Everyone is so down on Flood , Laviano and the program right now. Who knows? Just when everyone is ready to throw in the towel, we just might catch Michigan off its game and , yes, beat them. We have some talent. Coaching? questionable..... If Rutgers comes with its A-game we just might beat Michigan. We gotta believe!

I am expecting Rutgers to win this game and the mother ******* who gave up already because they might get their self egos hurt can go shopping for frozen turkeys. Step out on the ledge you couch asses don't be so afraid of not being perfect. "I don't care about winning" says Al being a loser.

It's funny how people say "this is the darkest time." Sure, it's frustrating and embarrassing to get blown off the field the way we have been. But you guys have very short memories if this is darker than losing to FCS teams and having roughly 10,000 people in the building.

Not defending the current situation at all, but it reminds me of people whining about basketball who clearly had forgotten the Littlepage Era, when we had records as bad or worse against far lesser competition.

I'll be very interested to see if this team's heart is in the winnable games after the shellackings they have taken.

"Darkest before the Dawn" might just be something Flood came up with because it is so self-evidently wrong. As dawn approaches the sky is as light as a pre-dawn night sky can possibly be.

How about this one.. isn't "offense is the best defense" supposed to benefit your own defense instead of the opposition? Why does Flood's offense benefit the opposing defense so much?

It's funny how the new crowd consider this the darkest time. But blast people who they think are negative and don't support the team through their struggles. You clowns need to STFU. We all have lived AND SUPPORTED teams that were much worse than the current team. If you weren't there please don't tell anyone how they should "support" the team

Shouldn't we ask a horse to run? Or ask an eagle to soar? I am asking that Al does his thing instead of sulking around. Anyway, this is going to be one of the best games ever. David vs Goliath.

Years ago ( after Burns left) there wasn't any expectations of having a good team, it was only hoping for a winning season. Now it's demanded .
Some long time supporters are now taking the way RU FB looks a little harder than they did years ago because now we expect RU to be a winner and had expectations greatness.
It hurt then, but it seems to be hurting a little more now, even with a better program despite Floods coaching and being blown out by some of the top B1G programs.

To me it's under Flood the bad years look like they might return and the hope of having a great program is a pipe-dream as long as KF is the RU HC.
I expect the Scarlet Knights to become the type of program we felt it could be when Schiano was the HC, but not under Flood.
Schiano gave RU FB fans expectations of greatness, but he didn't bring Rutgers there and he wound up having detractors before he left.
I supported RU when it was bad years ago and will support the team now.
But Flood lost my support and I was a floodie before this season started.

it's not good when jersey mike's vs subway is the top thread the night before the Michigan game. i think many here are diehards and it shows even the diehards are not excited about the game tomorrow.

it's time for a change period

Very well said. The young crowd has no clue.
I wasn't happy with Flood after the Cincy game at home and the rest of that season. However, the off the field issues bother me the most. If you are going to cheat...you better win. He has destroyed the image of this program off the field. I can no longer support him because of the off the field nonsense

We've scored 1 Offesive TD in the last two games and it came in the final minute of junk
time. Tomorrow we are playing a better defense. No we are not winning. In fact 24 point spread shows blowout yet again. Pin this comment do whatever you want because it's not going to be close.

We finally got the schedule against the big boys that we wanted, and for better or for worse there will be years like this when we just are nowhere close to the same par with them. And agree with others, these are hardly the dark days - go back to the mid '90s, early 2000s if you want to see dark. On the flip side it is frustrating because we took a step back going from Schiano to Flood, and the administration is happy because Flood is bargain basement and fits nicely into the budget, but we, the fans obviously deserve better than that.

Great post. I was at all as well. People on this board are drama queens. I know most of my tailgate crew got tickets because of Schiano. They don't know what those days truly felt like.

You make a great point . Years ago I and others took what we were given but had no expectations that things would be otherwise than what they were. Greg come on board and ultimately gave us HOPE and even worse,EXPECTATIONS.Now we are suffering under the delusion that things will get better without a change in the way that we get those things done.Ain't going to happen my friends.:sunglasses:

and yet we'll see many of these posters commenting tomorrow, "did you really expect to win?" To me, that's one of the most frustrating excuses for Flood -- that we're playing truly great teams and Flood shouldn't be expected to beat them (or even be competitive). It doesn't matter that teams throughout the Big Ten (and generally throughout the MAC) play much closer games against them than we did. They just look at the Top 25 ranking and come up with more excuses (Carroo was out, a rookie QB, missing Hamilton, etc.)

Nearly every team has injuries and every team changes players each year from graduation to the NFL. I don't consider this a rebuilding year. This is what the norm will look like unless RU makes a change at head coach.

Really, you believe this? We had several solid years after 2006.
name one solid year to be proud of below? And don't look at the records, look at it from a perspective of whether or not that season was a let down. We have never out performed expectations other than 2014 when everyone thought we'd get stomped by the B1G teams. Don't forget we only got 2 conference wins anyway.

2007 Big East — T–5th 8 5 Won International Bowl vs. Ball State, 52–30 — —
2008 Big East — T–2nd 8 5 Won PapaJohns.com Bowl vs. NC State, 29–23 — —
2009 Big East — T–4th 9 4 Won St. Petersburg Bowl vs. UCF, 45–24 — —
2010 Big East — 8th 4 8 — — —
2011 Big East — T–4th 9 4 Won Pinstripe Bowl vs. Iowa State, 27–13 — —
2012 Kyle Flood Big East — T–1st 9 4 Lost Russell Athletic Bowl vs. Virginia Tech, 10–13 — —
2013 American Athletic Conference — T-6th 6 7 Lost Pinstripe Bowl vs. Notre Dame, 29–16 — —
2014 Big Ten East T-8th 8 5

..Back in my ute me mum used to pop a Milltown or two which I always thought was hysterically funny whenever I drove through that town. Maybe they should develop a Piscataway for long suffering RU fans? Tailgate followed by a P-way or two and whatever happens inside HPSS just doesn't seem to matter anymore. ;)

You wouldn't want 9-4 and a bowl win? Is pretzel logic coming how that was no good? But this drek of this year playing below talent level is ok?

we tied for 4th in a weakened big east in two of the 9 win seasons we've had...LOL! lets stop pretending that we've have any type of year to be proud of since 2006. We've consistently under performed... The year we won the big east was also an underperform since we were expected to win that league outright.

If you think that it's been dark since 2006 you don't know what dark is.
not old enough to remember or care about the abyss of Rutgers history. What matter is that we've been on the decline and that needs resolution ASAP. I think we can all agree we want the best for RU.

If you were directing your comments to me you're dead wrong. I just used the expression to convey that when everyone feels all hope is lost don't give up. The team has talent although Flood's coaching is very suspect... Just so you know , I'm 64, a Rutgers College '73 grad and as big a diehard fan as you'll get. Living in Boston I get to as many games as I can and watch games with my 95 yr old dad who grew up in NB , faithfully supports Rutgers although he graduated NYU. We've been rooting for Rutgers ever since Sam Mudie and Alex Kroll played and following Rutgers BB ever since Bobby Lloyd and Jim Valvano played. And yes I was at MSG when Rutgers played Southern Illinois and Walt Frazier.
