TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Tupelo High School has hired former Mississippi
State guard Darryl Wilson as an assistant boys' basketball coach.

Tupelo
athletic director Danny Porter says Wilson will be a volunteer
assistant coach to new head coach Jeff Norwood. However, Wilson will not
be a teacher at THS.

Wilson was a three-time All-SEC guard at MSU in the mid-1990s and was on the Bulldogs' 1996 NCAA Final Four team.

With Bret Favre now off coord at Oak Grove gotta wonder why USM didn't ask but I suspect too much time to be college level.

Any other former players/walkons coaching? I'd like to see a list.

I keep imaging one of our former walkons in the middle of coaching a game, picks up a ball, and the whole crowd goes, "SHOOOOOT!".
