Dating much younger women

I saw an article about Dennis Quaid's latest wife who is 27; he's 66. I'm thinking when I'm about 66 I'll be ready to settle down once again.
I'm 49 and in the last few years I've dated several women between 22-32 and gag at the thought of dating women my age. I actually consider women 5-10 years younger than me to be cougars haha. All the ones I graduated HS with look like they could be an aunt or my mom.
I've managed to keep my dating life mostly off of social media because I don't want to get a bad rep. I think men and women age differently. I believe women actually peak around age 20 and start going downhill, much more quickly once they have kids. Men, on the other hand peak around 40 and I really don't know when they hit the wall; it depends on how financially secure they are. There are exceptions of course.
I just wanted the Paddock's take on it. Any of you guys out there notice the differences in age perception between men and women?

Almost all women look like garbage after 36 or 37. Why anyone would want to spend the last 20, 30 or 40 years of their life with an old, unattractive woman is way beyond my comprehension. Guys obviously do it because they want kids, but that's an awfully big price to pay for kids and it has a 50/50 chance of ending in divorce anyway. A good dog is all you need and hobbies like golf. Just my view, most wouldn’t agree.

I like those 30 year olds, I get older but they stay the same age.......

I didn't deal with 25 year old woman drama well when I was 25. I would absolutely hate it now.
Drama is actually minimal. When I first meet them I tell them some bs about how mature they seem and it makes them want to shy away from that ish, or at least around me.

You get it! I divorced 17 years ago and fortunately made it out with all my possessions and kids. For the most part marriage is a bad deal for guys these days.

Thankfully, I am not single at 57. But, the idea of dating some 25-35 YO is completely out of the question for me. I would not stand for one second to be interrupted and/or ignored on behalf of a smartphone. Sure, the younger chicks would presumably have some things going for them that an older woman would not. But, honestly, what would I possibly have in common with someone that young? Outside of sex, what appeal is there for someone that much younger? A lot of women that age would want children which I do not need more children at my age. Odds are I wouldn't like many of the things she does like - it's just such a different world and culture from what I grew up in that I'm not sure how to bridge that gap. When I want to go on for a night on the town, I don't leave the house at 10:30 or 11:00. By midnight, I've had a lot of fun and want to go home. I'm not trying to impress anyone with my car, clothes, house, 'woke' attitude, how much I can drink, my knowledge of current pop culture, etc. Just don't see how that would work at all for me. There are plenty of beautiful 40+ YO women with whom I would have a much better chance of a lasting relationship. Of course, someone that old would have more baggage but, hell, so do I. If they're worth it, you deal with the baggage and get over it.

Heads up. If you are in your forties and don't have money or power, ZERO attractive women have the slightest interest in you. Dream on though.
My wife has some pretty attractive divorced girlfriends between late 30's and mid 40's. She claims that all of them would consider a guy with a white collar job, a reasonable level of fitness and with most of his hair to be a catch.

There's countless 57 year old married men that would do anything to be single without having to go through divorce hell to get there.

Anyone that's smart knows that relationships are nothing more than an agreement between two people where both people are going to want wants best for them. An older man wants tender skin. A younger woman wants security. Works for me!

Young boys **** like rabbits too...those younger women like older men because as they say...the older the bull the stiffer the horn

I am told that "half +7" is a reasonable target. Half your age plus seven years. It makes sense; if you're 30, 22 is probably the minimum age, if 40, 27; if 70, 42. I would note that a 70 year old told me this, so he is probably a bit biased.

Was divorced at 40 and dated several ladies 15-20 years younger than me. My dilemma with younger women...l had 5 children by first wife and l was raising 4 boys on my own and didn't want anymore. 2nd wife and l have been together 23 years and she is 10 years younger with no children. She has been great with my kids and grand kids . Were 47/37 when we married.

True. But, I got lucky and married the right person for me. And, just because a 57-year old is now single doesn't mean he's capable of pulling 25-30 YO women. I'd love to know the average duration of a marriage when the partners' age gap is > 20 years. Absolutely CAN'T be more than 10 years. Statistically, 2nd marriages end in divorce 67% of the time and 74% of 3rd marriages end in divorce. Add in a large age gap and you're just kidding yourself that the marriage is going to be long-term. Bottom line, you've got to like something more about the person than they're good in bed (or at least younger). Without something more substantial, the relationship will definitely fall apart. It (like Thanos) is inevitable.

I’d never marry someone significantly younger. It just sounded like you’d consider it embarrassing to be single at 57. Maybe you do as I’m sure many guys see that as embarrassing.

Not what I meant. It would truly be my worst nightmare to be single as I'd be completely hopeless in today's dating environment. The only think embarrassing about me being single at 57 is how inept I'd be about meeting/dating women. Talk about your fish out of water...

It's a gap but not THAT big. Good for you, BTW. When I think of 'she's way too young for him', I generally think at least 20 years' difference but I'm sure that number is different for all of us.

agreed. I was 41 and she was 26 when I met her. She wants a baby and I have a vasectomy. Will be paying a reversal. So I got a plan.

Going to pay for it on a 0% interest credit card. Then keep transfer balancing to another 0% credit card until the little **** is 16. Then when my kid is old enough to work I will make the kid pay me a $100 a week till my vasectomy is paid off.

Started dating my wife when I was 40 and she was 24. Married when I was 42 and she was 26. Been married 20 years last week.
