That's a lot of cash for a guy that you'd have to move to the bullpen for the playoffs. Laughing

Meh, I'll take it. Definitely needed to invest in starting pitching. Would agree that his postseason record isn't great, but hopefully he can help us get back there.

I'm a big David Price fan, but this is a dumb move. How can you justify giving a 31 year old on the decline a 7-year deal worth over $30M a year?

Caller to Chicago talk radio this morning did the math on how many thousands of dollars that is PER PITCH and it was crazy. It was like $8,000 per pitch and $50,000 per inning or something like that.

I was really hoping the Cubs would jump the shark and dump all of that money out for him like they did Lester. Unfortunately, they are going to make more intelligent baseball moves. Damn Theo and Jed. They are ruining everything for Cubs haters.

Likely 10 g's per pitch, and 150 K per inning. If someone threw 5000 bucks between the mound and the plate, he would be wise to not even pick it up and keep throwing.
