Why so long?? This should be a job with a ton of good quality candidates applying.
They finished the final interviews Friday. The hope is to announce the next HC this week
Davie may approve (if not before on Monday) Tuesday night (2/4) as the Davie County Schools will have a board meeting.

Many parents never seem to learn they are not football coaches. I have never understood why they think they know more about football than coaches. They need to stay in the stands and watch the games.
It's high school football, it's not like these coaches make millions of dollars! High school coaches can't recruit (legally) they have who they have in their school. Coaching matters, however, a lot of time in high school football it's about the jimmies and joes not the x and o's. Coaching supplements in NC are so bad that many coaches work for .10 cent an hour and spend a lot of time away from their families just to get yelled at by parents who know nothing about football. I feel bad for high school football coaches in North Carolina.
I agree. It takes a special breed to put in the time for very little in return. From late July into at least early November (and even later than that if a team makes a deep playoff run) football coaches have most all their time taken up. And Friday nights can run very late if you have a road game with a team 1+ hour away. By the time you get back to your home school, make sure the kids are taken care of and clean things up, most coaches probably don't head home until way after midnight. All this for very little reward.
Easy to say when you’re not losing time with your own family to volunteer your time for someone else’s kids.
