It's curious because Richie keeps saying (correctly it seems) that Davis was signed and official. But there was never any official acknowledgment by Rutgers or update on this site (perhaps because Rutgers told him not to update it? No idea).
And there was the repeated excuses of "want to announce together with Ndongo" and "getting family together for an official announcement".
Now it's just a mention by Pike in an interview as a inferred confirmation.
I'm surprised that it still hasn't been made public yet... Rutgers is required to submit the signed NLI to the B1G Conference office within 14 days of the signing, or the signing becomes invalid.. I guess it's not public info with the B1G either..
I dunno, maybe we're so used to guys making a big spectacle out of these things that it seems strange when someone is understated about it. Either that or he has a HUGE family to bring together.

Listen to the podcast, Richie says he'll be on campus soon. Apparently there was a mix up on the move in date as Gavin Griffiths arrived this weekend. But when Davis comes, he's going to have a special guest with him for an undetermined amount of time.
A public announcement/ceremony has nothing to do with submitting the paperwork to the league for compliance purposes. Richie has said multiple times on the podcasts that the paperwork is in.
"Waiting to gather his family together" is definitely going to be a long running bit. Similar to "heard it at Subway".

It's funny because the recruiting pitch (like many other Tier 2 schools) was always "don't go to Alabama/OSU or Kentucky/Duke. They will just recruit over you and you'll ride the bench. Come here and be a focal point."
But now we're approaching the "we will recruit over you" tier (at least in basketball).
