Where will the home fans sit while the west side is being torn down and rebuilt? Lawn chairs behind the team bench. I doubt the side switch would be Permanent but the press box would definitely have to be rebuilt on the east side. Now when they rebuild the west side, they could put a new press box up there as well and have the visitors press box on the east and the home on the west. But they have to displace the home fans for at least 1 full season.
With attendance now a days, you could easily demo the west side and still hold the crowd on the east side.

why must a press box be built on the east side? Other than temporary. Just rebuild the west side to have about 70 rows of chairbacks and a row or two of suites and new press box above. Similar to what OM has now.

Because a project like that would take 2 full off seasons plus a season. Games will be played during reconstruction.

Well, DWS was second to none for the ASU and UTenn games in 2025. It was a fantastic atmosphere.

In 2002, if we had money to totally rebuild, it would have been cool if we built a 60k seat new stadium similar to a euro soccer stadium with all seats covered. Would have been unique for SEC football.

300 level on both sides need to be ripped off and the stadium bowled in. Who wants to pay to sit that high and far from the field?

I did for several years on the east side and it was really nice. Leg room wasn't bad and I sat almost on the 50 yd. line. Row 3 or 4 I think. Then if it got too hot, we could go inside to the air-conditioned concessions area. Plus, it was almost $100 per ticket cheaper.

Glad we’re finally closing in the south end zone. The renovations have been good over the years, but it seems we’re still way behind our SEC brothers.

To have gone all these years having an open end zone has done us no favors. If we’re being honest, because of the open end zone, the stadium reeks of a small time football school. How many recruits have we lost over the years? And YES stadiums matter to recruits. Trust me on that. We know for a fact Dudy Noble attracts top recruits. Works the same way in football. Maybe with this new project Davis Wade will finally project the image of a major college football program.

Sorry for the rant. But I feel like this should have been a priority years ago.
Word around north Mississippi is the south end will be visitor seating because everyone in the SEC thinks they will get a win in Starkvegas.

I like this idea in theory but I don’t see how that just doesn’t become a massive hot box for early season games. Moreso than it is already.

hotbox in the shade >>>>> hotbox in the sun

Doesn't really matter though because it will never be built in time
The whole the "east side is too hot" is another Mississippi State fan exaggeration.

I've sat On the east side for years. Maybe maybe one game a year it is hot. Every other game is comfortable with cheaper seats and better view of the field. Seems like you are slightly closer to the field on that side.

lastly with all the 11am kick offs, you will have no matter where you sit.
