"I said I'm not going to make a decision that's going to get us in trouble," Croom said.

..but you did, you damn idiot. I know how not to create any turnovers - let's just sit on the bench for 3.5 quarters while the other team walks up and down the field unopposed. Then with a few minutes left, we can field the team with no fears that they could change the game whose outcome wouldn't be in doubt at that point.

They article also said he didn't want to use his 2 minute offense on the MSU side of the 50 yard line. WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?!?! At that point, you don't need a 2-minute offense. GOOD LORD, FIRE THIS IDIOT!!!

He is still trying to learn. Its apparent we have the football players. We just dont have the coaching staff. I hate this kind of ****. One day maybe one day we will pull in a good coach and finally be a legitimate football team that wins 6-9 games every year.

but I really thought he would use last year as the excuse. So I really wasn't right.

just before half and playing for that elusive moral victory we`ve had so much trouble attaining against LSU.

its the fact that he seems to have no feel for how a game is going. What in the hell did he see that made him think our defense was going shut them down in the second half and therefore, we didn't need every single point. Hell, Scott was gashing us for 7 yds a carry and that zone was just awful.

Its just like the problem I had with punting on the opening drive of the 2nd half against GT. Everyone knew we were not stopping them and needed every point we could get.

He has no feel for a game, and that is killing us.

it's almost like he has his own version of a chart and looks up what he would in the situation and never strays from it no matter how the game is going.

As we have said before, his game management is what is most disconcerting. And the thing is, let's say he fires Woody and brings a completely new offense, he still has control over situations in the game like the end of the first half last night.

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!

with this...

One of the funnier things about last night. We do the fake field goal with Carlson to pooch punt. LSU has it scouted and sends a man back and WE STILL DO IT!!!

This Carlson pooch punting is starting to rival the Matt Wyatt punting days.

for a coach who is STILL trying to learn how to coach in year 5, and who is satisfied with moral victories.

Yep, who wants to be the OC for a coach that punts from the 30 and goes for it on 4th and 15 from mid field.

the mass confusion. One player runs in at the last second. Then another player runs off the field. No one knows how to line up. Yet we still snap it and pooch it. A head coach* would have called a time out to get the right personnel on the field.

He realized real quick that it netted -1 yards and was infuriated. Went on a rant about how nothing about that play was right, the personell blunder, the decision to pooch it after they knew it was coming, the execution, everything. Jim finally changed the subject on him. Jack may be old, but the old coger still has some fire in him. You can tell he isn't pleased with Croom's decision making too.

as it was happening. I said I can't believe we're paying that guy 1.7 million and he's playing not to lose on the road against the number five team in the country.

In the process of talking up Tech's option attack, he went on a rant about how important is for a coach to adopot an offenseive scheme that fits the players on the team.....

...on the pooch punt. It was a planned fake with the option of pooching depending on what the defense did. Bell runs on late. Players act like he is wrong and tell him to run off. Only to have him stop short of running off the field to receive a pass. Watch Bell, he never runs off the field. HOWEVER, two things happened....

1. LSU wasn't fooled and sent a defend towards the sideline with Bell. Watch Crxxm after the play, he ask Stringer if it was covered. Also, watch Carlson briefly turn to look Bells direction before kicking.

2. The flag was not for running on and off/to many men. It was because we didn't have enough men on the LOS. A recount of players reveals we only had 10 men on the field even with Bell coming on late. Evidently the play only confused one guy and he happened to play for us and be standing on the sideline with his head up his *** rather than in his spot along the LOS.

It was actually a very clever play. Some team with 11 smart guys may want to copy it.

no SEC coaching staff that has ever studied our team is going to believe that Adam Carlson is going to attempt a 53 yard field goal. i agree, the play sounds clever....if you run it on a 42 yard attempt.

It would be a shame to actually try to win at LSU, not just play it close..

Croom, the Bear would never just try to play it close..

You play to WIN !!!!!!!!
