1. What an exciting, electric atmosphere last night. Fans were loud, and our team was fired up and ready to play football

2. Torbush is going to be around awhile it appears. Amazing how much better the defense is since we have made a couple of changes in the secondary and gotten better athletes back there. Our front got knocked around some by the SEC's top rushing attack, but they played their *** off and made some big plays too.

3. Dancing Dixon returned. Of course, he had Croom flashbacks of people in his face constantly. Florida's defense is tough as hell, but I would have liked to see him put his head down and hit it a little harder.

4. Lee is what he is and is giving us all he's got. It's still the best QB play we have had in years. He will probably play good enough to beat Kentucky and then he is going to struggle again when Bammer has people hitting him in the face like Fla did. He knows all the checks, makes good reads, and thats about all we can hope for in year 1 under Mullen. Croom left us with this. He is the best option for us to put on the field

5. I love what Meyer (sp?) said about Mullens after the game- "he's one of the best coaches in America". I cant say enough about how this staff has our moderately talented football team going toe-to-toe with the best team in the nation. We will be bowling next year. And we will be back like we were under Jackie- honestly feeling we have a chance to win every Saturday. Speaking of Jackie, we also appear to have that attitude back again.

6. As far as the fake punt- its all about success or failure. I personally liked the call- as Meyer said- "he was trying to win the game"...

7. Relf needs to be used a play or two at a time- not a whole series. It's obvious he doesn't grasp alot of the playbook. His one attempt to pass cost us 12 yards. Mullen is aggressive and a risk-taker- and he doesnt want Relf to throw the ball. That should tell you all you need to know

8. People I talk to no longer say what a great man we have as a coach, now they say "don't worry, he won't be in Starkville long"...shows me we have peoples attention now

9. Having a week off makes a huge difference as I have been telling you guys. Tennessee should have beaten Bammer yesterday. And also why I said we a better chance of beating Bammer than Fla- we will be rested, have a great plan offensively and defensively, and Bammer will be coming off a tough, emotional game with LSU.

10. TOTW is now 10-3- poor D@A, can't talk any **** huh?

My vitriol for Lee isn't so bad as before b/c he's going all out-he just sucks.

Wyatt said, again, that Mullen's is getting draining every drop of effort out of the (lack of) talent he has. Just wait and watch.

Our OL is gonna have get better at pass blocking and holding their blocks longer than 1-mississippi.

Torbush is doing well developing this D, that said his players have more talent than the opposite side.

Dixon's gotta hit the hole and get an extra 2-3, he can bust a 20 yarder every carry vs a superior defense

Atmosphere: great, there were recruits there, don't know any of them, but I could tell they were having fun and were impressed. Let's just hope it carries over til Feb.

I feel better about our chances vs the rest of the schedule-we still got a (small) chance to be bowling. No time to throw in the towel

The atmosphere was great. Was nice see the stadium full this late in the season. Under Croom, we were usually in the 30k attendance range by this time of the year.

Couple of observations off the field:

1. Did anyone see the mini mock up of the M-Club complete with Jumbotron (50 in plasma)? I saw it on a trailer by the junction on the way out of the game.

2. Finally a fly over that made it during the National Anthem. A+ to the Fly Boys!

3. What caught on fire during the game. Smelled electrical. I was afraid the video board was fixing to go up.

4. Another A+ for the ladies of the student body! Keep up the good work. Plenty of eye candy this weekend.

When Berry got tackled at the 20, Bumpas let the Fla guy go right by him. On the 1 Berry almost broke, Bumpas missed the block at the 45. They put Heavens in on the last kickoff

Until Tyson starts making people pay, Dixon is facing an uphill battle. Tyson wasn't as accurate last night as he has been. It could have been the pressure that UF was bringing but he was throwing a lot of passes behind receivers. I am thinking for us to have a chance to win, Tyson needs to hit some bigger passes to back up the LBs and whichever safety is creeping up every time. He has yet to throw a pass longer than 15 yards that hasn't gotten picked except for the Green TD on a scramble with no coverage.

I know a guy that is an Alabama fan that actually went to school there and is educated. In other words, not your typical mullet wearing toolshed Bama fan. I told him that I thought Bama was better than UF and had a great shot at winning the SEC, and he said "Well, we have to get by you first." And he really legitimately meant it. We have people's attention indeed. We may get beat, but we're not going to let the other team come into our house without a fistfight. They're going to have to earn it.

I like the fake punt call to, but like I said, I would have rather seen someone other than Elliott carrying the ball. That's two gadget plays on ST's that he's screwed up in two weeks.

As far as Lee/Relf/Croom- I don't know what's worse- that Lee is the best we have or that Croom gave Relf a scholarship.

I agree with you about Bama. In addition to the off week, I really think that we have a good chance to stop their passing game, and then it becomes a matter of containing Ingram and also finding a way to score at least 14 point on offense.

to win consistently on 10 point teasers. D@A called him out on other bets, which he was terrible at.

...and can catch a football, because he can run, but can't throw. That makes me think that next year he will be at TE. If we get Cam, plus have Tyler and Stegall ready, he won't see the field unless at TE.

I thought we got too cute.
I was scared to death when we didn't run the clock out at the end of the first half. They block the punt and it almost cost us. Luckily it ended up in our favor.
I really didn't like the series where Dixon runs for about 11 yards on the first play and then we take him and Lee out and put Relf in.
It was pretty obvious what Relf was going to do. There was no threat of him handing to ball off or pitching it on the option. I know he is bigger and faster than Lee but he is not good enough to be that one dimensional. I thought it took too many options away from the offense.
With that being said, we were in the game until the end. I feel like we will be better at every position next year with the exception of possibly running back and middle linebacker.

D@A called me out last year when I said I was winning 70-80% of my teasers. Thus, the "Teaser of the Week" was born so that he could monitor exactly what I was doing

Agreed on all points except - I already feel like we have a chance to win on any given Saturday. And I am predicting a win against Bama. Coming this close this much all season, we are due for one.

Help me out, because I am not 100% sure where we were on the field. Either right at the 40 or just inside the 40. It was 4 down territory. Relf had been gashing them pretty good on the ground. It is 3rd and 4. We are down by 3. It was 4 down territory. Momentum is high after Relf's long run...and we call a pass play.

You run Relf twice or Dixon and you get a fresh set and move into field goal range. Why on earth would you call a passing play with Relf in that situation.

Overall though, I was very pleased. The explanation for this game is very simple. Sometimes the better team wins.

I told the guy beside me we're in 2 down territory, that we should pick up a first the way Relf was running the ball and have 2 downs to do it. Then we called that pass play. I still don't understand that call.

stayed in to block. i guess they didn't trust relf to throw to someone in the flat. i don't know. if i had to bet, we told relf to throw it away if there was nothing there, and he decided not to do so.
