I'm not going to rant, but did seecouple of thingsfrom last night we have got to drastically improve on if we want to even make the field of 68 .
- Our perimeter defense is awful. I thoughtit was just a bad night when FAU's 5'5" guard kept making plays. Butthen Detroit's guards kept getting to the basket with ease. Then Baylor's skinny Canadian white boy guard lit us up with 3 pointers in the first half. Now Arkansas's guards could either drive easily to the basket or shoot wide open 3 pointers, whichever they prefer. Last night were were completely exposed as we just cannot guard anybody against the dribble. I didnt see the Utah State game but it seemed this was the case against them as well. Our coaches better show Steele, Hood, and Smith how to D up quickly.
- Bost needs a slump buster. Maybe Mark Grace could give him some pointers on how to get out of his slump. He has just not played very well the last five games. I know he is shooting in the 20th percentile lately, and also has made some really careless plays and turnovers. Maybe teams are really focusing on shutting him down? Whatever it is, Bost needs to shake it. I have seen him play light out alot in his career, and he's got to step his play up down the stretch to have a good chance a making the tourney.
- I cant wait until Arkansas comes to the Hump. What is it with Arkansas imbreds heckling all of our athletes? Sidney gets called out by a student in the student section during warmups. Last year Brent Brownlee gives a bird to Arkansas' left feildbecause of getting hassled the whole baseball game. I think we should start returning the favor whenever Arkasas athletes come to Starkville. Cussing, harassing, and yelling at their players will be completely tolerated in my book.
- Refs were pretty bad the first half. I'm not gonna make excuses. They beat us and the better team won last night. But I didthink the Mexican Mop Head on their squad got away with murder in the first half . It seemed Arky's D didnt really move their feet during the full court press. Instead it was just alot of grabbing , holding , and tripping. The second half we were just outplayed. Period.
