Corners got picked on a lot tonight. First thing that came to mind was how we lost 2 NFL corners, then how someone on this board claimed they had firsthand knowledge that several coaches were being let go at the end of the season.
I'm probably going to get some drunken responses here tonight, but more-so tomorrow and going forward do you think Townsend is the right call for corners coach? I agree that his title is generous as Hughes pretty much coaches the secondary and it was a HUGE get to add a person with NFL coaching experience who played at Alabama and won Super Bowls, but whether it was coaching or schemes or whatever... secondary lost the game tonight, which is the best position we've recruited at since Mullen's arrival. Maybe even before that.
Just curious as to how some of you feel about the whole thing. Hard to rag on the corners after what we've lost. No other program in the country can talk about losing what we've lost in that department. At the same time... recruiting has been good...
