Like Rambis' thread, what's your thoughts on this group. To me, it's the deepest unit on the team and will be the most fun to watch shake out durin camp. At corner you have Love, Redmond, Calhoun, Jiles, Cleveland and Cox, Hughes, Market, Evans, Coman at safety plus freshman like Bryant and Gray.
Who I think will start - Love, Calhoun, Cox, Market
Who I hope will start - Redmond, Calhoun, Love at nickle, Cox, Hughes if healthy.

I don't know if DB or LB is deeper. We could lose two DBs, and be fine. I would hate for it to happen, but that's how deep the position is for us.

Deep and athletic. We don't have an enforcer like Whitley, but we certainly have some play makers. Cox is a homerun hitter at Safety. Just get ready for a bunch of strikeouts too. I feel good about our pass defense, though I have a mild concern about how physical they are and can they stop the run.

Speaking of enforcers....what ever became of Quadry Antoine? Is he a Junior now or Soph, and is he still listed as a safety? I thought that guy would be a Whitley, but I haven't heard anything about him in a few years. Was he slower than expected? Injury? Just curious

Is OL and DE the only positions we are not deep at?

OL is the only one in my opinion. Between Smith, Brown, Jefferson, and the JUCO guy....I feel like we are pretty deep at end. Especially considering we could potentially slide Chris Jones over and have Eulls and James in the middle. I think Collins even said McKinney may rush some off the end this year at times too.

With a healthy Hughes and Calhoun I think we have two very physical db's on the field. Calhoun was power bombing people by the end of the year.

Should be a sophomore. He's listed 5'10" and 225 lbs. I'd assume he's really 5'8" or 5'9". May be more of a special teams kind of guy at that height. He supposedly moved to LB during bowl practice and this spring.

This should be a great group of DBs. If Cox is as good at safety as he's been advertised, and Hughes can get back healthy - this group may be better than 2011 with Banks, Broomfield, Slay, Mitchell, and pre-injury Whitley. I don't think the starters are as talented but there is much better depth.

Is Jahmere Irvin-Sills still on the team? He was impressive out of HS. Thought he red shirted last year?

Whitley wasn't the same enforcer while he was fighting with his injuries.

As far as their physicality, they played physical the second half of the season. A big factor will be how free they can roam on account of the pressure of the front 4.

Bit of a head case. Don't be surprised if he doesn't pan out. And by pan out, I mean quits playing football. He'll go into woe-is-me tirades on twitter that are turrible.

Where did I say he was a big hitter? I said he was physical, are you disagreeing with my statement that Calhoun is a physical player? Work on your reading comprehension.

McKinney will play with his hand in the dirt, because he wants to be as marketable to the NFL next year as possible. If he can show he can rush off the edge, it will likely solidify himself as a 1st round, and maybe a top 10 pick.

I think we have some depth at DE, but I don't think there is an All-SEC caliber player in the mix there.

He did redshirt, and if I remember right, the coaches were very high on him during the spring.

I hope Redman and Calhoun start. I think they bring the most physical attack and I believe Redman can be a lock down corner.

Yes, only OL. But the lineup is flexible, which means that they are not one injury away from opening the flood gates.

The DL can go Predator Package and buy some rest if needed.

Jahmere Irvin-Sills will be competing for starting snaps in the fall. He looked great in the spring game.

Haha. Auto text got me. Touche. Our defense will be fun to watch. Honestly I almost feel bad for our coaching staff. Lot of talent to choose from.
