Honest question, have we spent any money this portal season? If we are spending big money on these guys, that’s a problem. We haven’t signed a ton of kids and the kids we’ve landed have been 🤷‍♂️

I just mean they aren’t the top players on the market. Doesn’t mean they might not be good. all of them might be good, but they shouldn’t be big money guys.

and losing Dylan, EJ, and Key etc it seems like we are actually spending less, not more like Rhule said he was. Something doesn’t seem right

was brother Rhule just telling more lies from his pulpit?

and if we are thus far off financially from most of football, why are paying a coach a top 15 salary. Just all seems shady

Kept a LB from visiting Clemson. That tpok money

You have some good points here. Are we spending money, in my opinion We Are.

But also IMO Coach Rhule’s biggest recruiting battle is to maintain his Current Roster. He’s got to re-recruit them too. They are being recruited from the outside, and this is where a good chunck of the $$$’s are going. And all other Teams are having this same requirement.

Losing Dylan, EJ and Key. EJ is the biggest loss. He will be hard to replace. All-Americans don’t happen every day.

I think Dylan’s production will be replaced. I hated to see him go, and the next day I am glad he did, for several reasons. I will always follow his career. He will always be a Husker to me. But, the offense needed a different skill set and, He needed a Fresh Start.

Key is a great player, but his production would be the easiest to replace. And more. I like where the Huskers are at WR.

Dollar for Dollar, at the moment I don’t think Nebraska wins a lot of recruiting battles for the top talent with the year in-year out top 15-20 teams. We have to Win some games first. We have a little Uncertainty hanging around the program at the moment.

Gonna look like a high school freshmen team…

A billion WR and DBs.

Might as well be some 13U select baseball team recruiting more second basemen.
The only way you can tell who ISN'T a WR/DB on a freshmen team is because we just handout those pesky 50-69#'s to some kids instead of others.

So far we’ve kept our most talented two O linemen. Losing Pritchett or Evans would be disastrous.

the receiver from UCLA isn’t ranked in top 10 WR like Key was. He’s not even close. Not even in the top 50 WRs so Kemwazi getting fractions of Keys money. If he’s not, someone needs to be looked into.

Kwazi might very well be better than Key but we are talking NIL.

And even if Dylan was overpaid, he was still paid that. If we are paying an undersized 5th year SR who threw a lot of picks last year in the mountain west, Dylan money WOW

and where’d EJs go? He was being paid.

And the players was signed may be fine players but none are highly looked at. They aren’t big NIL spend. This looks like a pay cut. So why’d Matt say we’d have tons of money for NIL

Dam we might need Nick Shirley looking into Nebraska NIL cause this is all Sus

Most of that money was probably used to retain the roster. The same roster that went 7-6 this year.

Coleandra isn’t getting what Dylan is going to get from Oregon. I’ve heard a lot less than a million for Coleandra. I’m not sure if NIL is subject to public disclosure laws. IF they were made NU employees it would be. Then some of the nonsense floated by agents and their media buddies would get exposed.

Donors don't spend money when they don't have faith in the product. I don't think the explanation is any more complicated than that.

Also, it may not be a money issue. It could just be we're not gaining any interest from the top players.

Nebraska: Hey Leavitt, we'll give you $5.5M to come play for us.
Leavitt: No thank you. I'll go to LSU even if it means I'm getting less.
