Redwine65 has posted a video of Brent Pry former VT head coach in another thread. Former PSU defensive coordinator recently fired by VT. Does redwine65 know something or is he just a mindless fool like the rest of us?

He says he’s just guessing this guy is a possibility. Not sure on this specific thing, but Redwine has known some things well before they were announced before. Enough that I definitely always pay attention when he throws something out there.

It’s a great guess. That kinda fits Rhule’s MO. PSU ties. Former head coach. Demonstrated ability to do the job.Yeah, he's been known to do that from time to time as well![]()
NOOOOO !I saw Bob Davie's cable installer in Lincoln.
Now that was one weird dude.
Strain. Now that was one weird dude.
Now that was one weird dude.
He would come back becuase he knows the checks clear. There is no world where Pelini comes back. If he did - I could see him doing worse than LsU time just to stick it to UNL again![]()
that's not the way Bo rolls, but I agree, he likely has zero interest in it.. but he does fit the bill as far as developing guys. I'm not sure Bo would run another scheme though, as he had problems with defending the run for a couple years as well. There is no world where Pelini comes back. I'll be that guy. I was not optimistic. I saw what he did with the DBs and saw what he did at Penn State as a DC.The new DC will get lots of praise when he's hired.
Just like Butler got exactly 1 year ago.
Fans are generally optimistic on newbies.
Yeah, there were several naysayers when Butler was hired actually.I'll be that guy. I was not optimistic. I saw what he did with the DBs and saw what he did at Penn State as a DC.
As db coach or dcYeah, there were several naysayers when Butler was hired actually.
When Butler was the DB coach you could tell TW and him were not on the same page. There were a lot of missed assignments in the secondary, not necessarily to do with talent but scheme. As db coach or dc
I was just parroting that big red rant video dingle, sounds good thoughRedwine65 has posted a video of Brent Pry former VT head coach in another thread. Former PSU defensive coordinator recently fired by VT. Does redwine65 know something or is he just a mindless fool like the rest of us?
My high coach said that a lot as well, maybe Coach Hunter Short is the hire.Didn't watch the press conference, but apparently Rhule said something about wanting the defense to be "11 playing as 1?"
Happens to be exactly what Toledo DCs twitter bio says
If he can coach DL I say give him a callMy high coach said that a lot as well, maybe Coach Hunter Short is the hire.
Better yet if he has a 335 man child nose tackle, give him a job.If he can coach DL I say give him a call

For me it was more about why no one was willing to give him another chance as DC. 1 year as playcaller. At that point you may as well hire some young guy because it isn't like you are getting a brilliant defensive playcaller or someone with experience.I'll be that guy. I was not optimistic. I saw what he did with the DBs and saw what he did at Penn State as a DC.
Toledo DC sounds interesting.
Weird that he would go from being a very successful HC to a DC. Wonder why no one took a chance on him at HC.Vince Kehres - Toledo defense ranked second in total defense and top five in points per game, yards per game, points per play, and yards per play. Toledo also ranked third in yards allowed per rush. His pass defense held offenses to just a 48.4% completion percentage. That's the lowest completion percentage nationally. Yes, all of this is at a lower level of competition, but he also produced four NFL draft picks in six years at Toledo. Prior to being the DC at Toledo, he was a D3 head coach at his alma-mater where he went 95-6 over his 7 years there, with 6 conference titles and 2 national championships.
Looks like he'd fit right in with the B1G...
TOTAL DEFENSE RANKINGS
#1 - Ohio St
#2 - Toledo
#3 - Oregon
#4 - Indiana
We seem to be taking our time with this hire. It’s a very important one for Rhule’s future here.Weird that he would go from being a very successful HC to a DC. Wonder why no one took a chance on him at HC.
Not uncommon to go from d3 hc to d1 dc. I don't see that as weird but more smart on his part to cut his teethWeird that he would go from being a very successful HC to a DC. Wonder why no one took a chance on him at HC.
