I can't believe how many Ole Miss fans are slamming Day and saying he should be suspended for the rest of the season. One even compared him to Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson. If this happened in the Egg Bowl I would understand it, since they would be pissed that Day stepped on one of their players. But this game had nothing to do with them. In fact, it is against their "biggest rival" LSU. You'd think they either wouldn't care that a player from their "biggest rival" got stepped on or would laugh and think it's funny. But no, they are on a mission to get Day suspended the rest of the season. It's crazy. Especially since they loved Bradley Sowell, who was a dirty POS who intentionally tried to take out one of our scrubs' knees on the last play of the Egg Bowl in 2011.

I agree with Karl, here. Day would have had to be fully locked into the Matrix to see what was unfolding and have the opportunity and awareness to stomp on a player on purpose when he did. He was getting to the ball to help make a play, and the players were on the way to the ground when he was getting there. He didn't just walk by and step on someone. The end of the story should be this: The whistle had not yet blown, and he was at the point where the ball was going to be advanced or stopped after leaving the line of scrimmage. Folks are just sour.
I've asked this question several times, and haven't had a Bear with the guts to answer...if it really was aanything but obviously intentional, why did none of the LSU players do anything? They were standing right there and saw it point blank, not to mention the whole LSU sideline.

I`ve honestly never seen them so upset about something happening to their own team as they are this. Us beating LSU has really fried their brains. Crazy....
This letter explains a lot, actually. Mr. Day's proper use of punctuation and block-paragraph format in explaining the situation - all while avoiding the dreadful usage of onomatopoeia or cliches in a formal letter, has clearly infuriated that liberal journalism school. Other than a few mistakes (i.e., ending a sentence with a preposition, a comma splice or two), Mr. Day has proven himself to have a firm grasp on the English language. I think that a victory in the Egg Bowl should also come with an honorary doctorate in journalism for this fine young man from the University of Mississippi - he clearly has proven himself to be a much better writer than some of the garbage I've seen produced in the Oxford Eagle and other sub-par news sources that have hired previous graduates of the school. I doubt he'll have much need for it, but he will have something laying around his large mansion one day should he run out of toilet paper - or in case he needs something to wipe the guts off his cleats after playing on Thanksgiving.

Exactly...its just fear and its sad really.
between the fear of how good we really might be this season and the fear they have of Alabama absolutely skull dragging them while the spotlight is the brightest is too much for them to handle.
I think Bama might expose them big time...if Memphis doesn't do it first.

This really does happen ALL the time
I've literally stomped hands and feet at the bottoms of piles. I've shoved forearms into throats and underneath face masks pushing helmets off in piles. I've had all of that and more done to me in piles during the game. Anyone who has ever played football at a higher level than junior high knows that when you're on the field it's another world... It's a war for 60 minutes and you do almost whatever it takes to have an advantage and sometimes you have to play a little nasty. I like the mean streak and this kind of stuff. Not saying he did it on purpose but dang some people are whining like girls that apparently have never played the game...
