RON POLK vs. DUSTIN DAWG

Who will become the third winner of the Golden Turd award?

Ron Polk did a lot for MSU baseball in the 1980s, but coming back out of retirement seemed to hurt his legacy. In 2007, Polk took an average team on an incredible run to Omaha and could have retired a legend, but then there was 2008 and the hissy fit that followed. Technically you should only consider douchebaggery in the past year from Polk (e.g. "Punched in the stomach," "I'm taking my name off the stadium," "Greg Byrne is over his head.") and not past douchebaggery (pitching Maholm against Middle Tennessee, among others.)

And then there is Dustin Dawg. Every DDDY winner has been a poster, so Dustin has that advantage. There have been some !*%$%*%%! posters on this board, but how many have threatened to meet someone out by the vet school and kick multiple posters' asses. Then he never shows his face again.

This vote is very important. Do we, the posters of SPS, enshrine Ron "I invented college baseball" Polk into this fraternity, or does a !*%$%*%%! poster win again? Google Derek Dunn Mississippi State and the top hit is this award. This is serious stuff. Who will win DDDY 2009? It's up to you.

Of course, his ascendancy to all-time Duchebaggery wouldn't have been possible without the help of Larry "No Chin" Templeton.....if you're still on the fence about the finals, just watch the CWS and with every win the LSU tigers get, remember that Paul Mainieri could have been OUR head Coach if Lonnie Tinkle had been actually doing his job, instead of taking the lazy and easy way out by re-hiring Polkester.

I can't throw out the great memories from Polk I and vote for him. Just can't do it.

after seeing this at the CWS over the weekend while hearing LSU fans all around bragging on their great team and coach. instead all i could think of was our "legend" trying to get his name taken off of the stadium while throwing a tantrum like a seven year old.

the douchebag of the YEAR...not douchebag of the last 3 decades. That would go to Larry Templeton. There is NO bigger douchebag of this past year than Ron Polk. It's not close! Do what you have to do...and do it in good conscience.
