Being De’Andre back next year and honor him. He has always maintained his loyalty to UK and that is commendable. He and Bam took the elite eight loss especially hard. Bring those guys back and let’s celebrate their brief career at UK. Also, would love to see Jorts and Brandon Knight. What a fun team to watch!

The first UNC game Fox year still a favorite game I saw in person, and the second UNC game still a very very unfavorite Calipari no time out for the loss game. Fox and Bam! crying in the locker room and it seems like some kind of ending looking back.

Only a dumbass would forgo what they have here to support Calipari at Arkansas. It’s just dumb. As you see with PJ’s personal life and relationship choices, he doesn’t read at the highest grade level.

The reasons are endless why you shouldn’t do it Notice cousins hasn’t done it either, he only got a little upset Calipari was ran out. I’m certain Wall told him not to do anything like that and you definitely won’t see Davis or Wall doing it. Calipari, if he had anything about himself, wouldn’t want those guys doing it either. It damages their legacy here which Calipari knows full well. It shows who the guy really is if you pay attention. He doesn’t need it to recruit everybody already knows who they played for.

Calipari wasn’t run out at Kentucky. His complete arrogance voided his contract. That’s the only reason we aren’t still looking at his dumbass.

Calipari couldn’t stay here. You can’t continue those droughts and wars with the brass and base. No contract will keep a bad coach at UK.

I choose run out simply to convey a point about the fans and situation. Technically he left but he wasn’t going to have a choice either way. Calipari was going to have to be trashed. Whether it be that year or the next.

And he knew it all too well and tried to use Arkansas to strong arm Mitch which backfired completely. He didn’t realize how much we wanted him out.

Only thing I would add is in 10 years Calipari will be back in the good graces at Kentucky and talking about his time here anyway. Just like Tubby, Pitino etc. It’s not like he’s going to be remembered as being the Arkansas coach or anything

Cal absolutely could have stayed if he wanted.

There was no movement at all to get him out from the people that could get him out.

Had Cal not decided on his own to leave he would still be here.

It will happen. But I do think his legacy here is in jeopardy here is he wins a championship at Arkansas. Just like I think the only reason Pitino is welcomed back now is because Louisville fired him and the title was stripped. If not for that I’m not sure he’d be welcomed back to this degree.

Calipari needs to be average at Arkansas and leave after next season / or the next. Not saying he wouldn’t be remembered here anyway, but to what degree he would be an ambassador and legacy guy if he wins at Arkansas or stays there too long? Not sure.

Calipari likely wasn’t going to be able to stay at Kentucky past another season (the next season not the one he was in) at the rate he was on. It was already being set up that way. Barnhart and the brass were literally taking total control away from him. It was beginning. Had he flamed out again that season he would have been removed 100%.

Calipari left because he knew it was over. It’s not about what the contract says, you cannot stay at Kentucky year after year with the entire state wanting you removed. It’s too much pressure and negative grind.

Same way Stoops cannot stay here on this current trajectory. Doesn’t matter what the contract says. Just because you could doesn’t mean you can. Nobody parks at an SEC program much less the the best of them and points to a contract year after year and stays put when they’re not producing. It’s bad for the brand long term and they lose too much money long haul. Moves are made. It would have happened with Calipari too, just not that particular season. It’s even more true in basketball here.
