At the beginning of the 4th quarter.
Yes, you too.

Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on, and on, and on

[Chorus]
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlights, people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on, and on, and on

[Chorus]

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights, people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlights, people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights, people

The other night in Razoo this was the best song that played. They should've just left the "band" on break and played stuff like this.

I'll sing it this Saturday. Yes I will.

That was a surreal moment last Saturday. Absolutely awesome.

I know we've been doing it since last season but to be in that wild environment with over 60,000 people jacked out of their minds at noon.... unbelievable.

Maybe we could get Steve Perry as guest picker. He's the better of the two Perry's anyway.

Can we have a "Dear Students" class too and teach them timing?

for the "Hey Go State" cheer

Exactly!!!!!!!
Song was released in 1981. If you were 17 in high school that puts you at 50. Probably have a few grey (err blue) hairs. Btw I was rocking it too. This is a great idea our administration has come up with. Love it.

A great man typed up the following in one of our group texts...
What an environment. 11 am kick. We had the highest ESPN rating and the place was nuts. If it had been at night, it would have been like a rave. I have to admit, I teared up a little when the students, all of them still there, started singing Dont Stop Believing. Its not that Im a Journey super fan, it was just a moment that all of those horrible times I've sat in our half empty, half assed stadium rushed through my head. And look where we were at that moment. Gotdamn I love Mississippi State.

I know it was a great moment, but I find a little irony in this being started by HeavyMetalDog...

That is exactly what I was thinking. This song was released in what 1980 or 81? Either way someone that was 20 when this song came out is somewhere around the mid 50's now. I think the older guys got this.

It was awesome though.

Sorry, but I wasn't referring to the 40 and 50 year olds as "blue hairs" ... just the old people like 60 and 70 years olds.

Regardless, everyone learn the words!

I just wish we would have enough time to play the whole song.

Wouldn't it be better if they would edit the song down to where we actually get to sing "Don't Stop Believing"?

And put the words on the big screen, at least until we get everyone gets used to singing it. This could be a really powerful stadium thing if we push it.

No big screen direction. Learn the words on your own. Big screen usage will cheapen it like the nazi maroon white cheer presented by Ford prior to the team coming out.

Edited to add: just let the students and 2 cheerleaders start the cheer.
