Using Ron Franklin on a Friday night game is like washing down a bag of pork rinds with a bottle of Dom Perignon.

You suck.

Sincerely,
College Football Fan

the "honey" comment to Holly Rowe was the end of his career as we knew it.

On another note, Colorado effing sucks.

I still think he's a hell of a lot better than Mike Patrick, he still should be right behind Brad Nessler

I was wrong, it was "sweetheart".

On October 1, 2005, according to the Chicago Tribune, during a game between Notre Dame and Purdue that Franklin was calling, sideline reporter Holly Rowe praised Purdue defensive coordinator Brock Spack for using all three timeouts on defense despite trailing by four touchdowns late in the game. "If the coaches are giving up," Rowe added, "what does that say to the players?" Franklin responded: "Holly, it's not giving up. It's 49-21, sweetheart."

Franklin is, or was, the voice of SEC Football. Its a shame that he has gone from calling Saturday Nights in Tiger Stadium to Friday nights in whatever the ++%! Toledo's chain and balls stadium is called. Its a shame.

I really enjoyed when they had the Franklin/Gottfried pairing on ESPN and Barnett/Curry/Golic pairing on ESPN2.

he is not the first play-by-play guy who thought Holly Rowe was an idiot. He just vocalized it, sort of. I hate it too. Hearing his voice equaled SEC football for so many years.

it just proves that ESPN knows they have the male audience 15 through 55 in their pockets and now they're digging to get the bull-dyke crowd. Only Rush Limbaugh and Jimmy the Greek have been punished worse for speaking on-air about sports.

anybody with commonsense can see he was being a smart-***. I personally hit the mute button when one of those dumb blonde whores give their sideline spill. They have not played football; they have no clue on what's going on out there.
