A. You cant take away the wins- they happened already.
B. You cant take away all the money made from those wins
C. You cant take away all the the excitement that took place those nights
D. You cant take away that FF appearance and NC game
E. Unless you remove Calipari at Kentucky, you cant take away the money he is making because of those wins.
F. You cant take away the loss teams incurred by playing them in the NCAA Tourney

NCAA, you are a ridiculous joke

What is the NCAA going to do, make them take their final four banner down? They won the games and that is the bottom line. That's one of those bells you can't unring.

I bet the outcome would be different. Do you think they would take away victories or schollies? My guess is scholarships.

A. They DID take away the wins
B. They are forcing Memphis to pay back NCAAT Money (which is over ~10 Million)
C. I know the Memphis fan I work with is pretty disappointed.. while I guess he was still happy then... it is embarrassing as hell now.
D. They did take it away and required the removal of ALL mention of the FF and NC game from Memphis campus and Basketball Offices...and Banners..
E. true.. he should be fined but the school takes the risk of the coach I guess.
F. I agree here.. I guess nobody wins those games.

however, this does affect three national records that Memphis has set or was about to set:

1) the most wins in a season by any team - 38 (no longer happened)
2) the most career wins by a player (held by 4 different Memphis players) - can't remember the number, but they no longer hold that record
3) the longest conference game winning streak - Memphis needed to start out 4-0 in CUSA this year to set that record nationally, and now that is gone.

So, for them, it's not just the money and the banner. It's a handful of records that I know meant a lot to their fans.

our official all time football record is 485-527. Give us back our 19 victories and we're 504-508.

We've got to go on a serious run to be a school with a .500 record. If we had the 19 wins back, it could be accomplished with one good season. Damn, it's embarassing to be a school 42 wins under .500

So I say vacated victories hurt.

A. They DID take away the wins- no they didnt. The games were won on the court those nights. We gain absolutely nothing by them giving up their win to us. We still left the court dejected that day. We still packed our equipment up for the season. They still got to celebrate and take pictures as they cut the nets down. They got that winning feeling. Little Rock isnt calling us to come back and cut the nets down in their place

B. They are forcing Memphis to pay back NCAAT Money (which is over ~10 Million) - What about t-shirt sales? What about money donated to the program by boosters all giddy over their FF run? What about advertising dollars they gained from all that?

C. I know the Memphis fan I work with is pretty disappointed.. while I guess he was still happy then... it is embarrassing as hell now- Its short-lived. He still has the memories from those nights of what his team accomplished. Those cant be taken away.

D. They did take it away and required the removal of ALL mention of the FF and NC game from Memphis campus and Basketball Offices...and Banners.. - Do you need a banner reminding you of our FF season from 1996?

E. true.. he should be fined but the school takes the risk of the coach I guess. - agreed

F. I agree here.. I guess nobody wins those games.- Memphis won them. It's kinda like those stupidass reporters keeping McGwire and Bonds out of the HOF- they can ***** about roids- but nobody ever hit HR's like those guys did. And they know it. Nobody else has ever felt the joy and excitement those men did by accomplishing what they did. And that cant be taken away just because a few people dont want to say they are HOF'ers. Saying Memphis didnt win those games 2 years after they happened doesnt really do anything.
