Dear NFL: 17 you. Your rules & officials suck. Sincerely, Titans Fans.***

A spectacular special teams play being negated by a ridiculous rule that probably leads to a touchdown & the game winning points is ok? You're telling me officials letting a game spiral completely out of control is ok? You're telling me letting at least 5 late hits go unflagged is ok? You're telling me only ejecting 1 Titan in a fight involving both teams is ok? You're right, "unbelievable." That crew should never be allowed back to Nashville aGAIN. And the NFL needs a rule change, stat. I believe that's dumber than the infamous tuck rule.

about the refs, but a superior team simply shouldn't that type of inferior team back in. Shocked by some of the no calls in game

tuck rule
can't hit qb at the feet
horse collar tackle
illegal contact

the new onside kick rules

all of these rules and many more are recent additions that make the game panzified.</p>

If you think about it, there are a lot of times returners bobble the ball....maybe not as excessively as Jacoby Jones did for the Texans, but nevertheless, you have to make it a rule to protect the returner and keep a total judgment call away from the refs. If there is a slight bobble, then you would leave your returner exposed to get obliterated by the punt coverage if that wasn't a rule. You would have heads rolling all over the field if that was not a rule. It was a good call by the refs in my opinion.

I'm not sure whether this rule only applies on st plays or what, but I've seen more than one apparant touchdown brought back to the spot of the fumble recovery. Extremely frustrating for the fans, though I'm not sure how this rule protects players.

If the returner can't field the kick cleanly that's his problem. The coverage guy should be able to assume the kick will be caught and time his hit accordingly.

You can only return the ball on a punt return or kickoff return if the returner has maintained possession of the ball. If he muffs the punt or kickoff, you cannot return it. It's very cut and dry. Is that the rule you are referring to?

way anyone else from the returning team will be in position to make a tackle to prevent a TD. It would basically be several vs. 1. When the returner advances the ball, typically he catches up with the rest of the team and then, if he fumbles, his team is in better position from preventing a return for a TD.

Thanks.

For the record of this thread, I agree with the NFL rules that protect the quarterback. A few years back they were going overboard and calling every push, but I think they've been doing a good job of calls and no calls for the past few seasons.
