Should have taken the PSU job. He’ll probably be available next November for us.
So, maybe we'll get Jett Thomalla after all.Should have taken the PSU job. He’ll probably be available next November for us.
Going for a 4th and 2 from your own 12 is crazy.Should have taken the PSU job. He’ll probably be available next November for us.
Down 14. 8 minutes left. It’s not crazy. Questionable yes.Going for a 4th and 2 from your own 12 is crazy.
I mean, it makes sense because they were going to lose anyway plus I am sure they have been all but told that they are in the playoffs no matter what.Going for a 4th and 2 from your own 12 is crazy.
It was do or die for sure. That was the ballgame.Down 14. 8 minutes left. It’s not crazy. Questionable yes.
If Alabama fires DeBoer, they could slip back into the abyss. The Alabama and Clemson model is obsolete. Just like the Nebraska Big 12/Prop 48 of yesteryear.Should have taken the PSU job. He’ll probably be available next November for us.
Had it 3rd and 2. Threw 2 passes. They don’t expect to be able to run for it. Sounds familiar doesn’t it ?It was do or die for sure. That was the ballgame.
Yeah but their boosters and fans may be the most spoiled and delusional in college football. Reminds me of…….us.If Alabama fires DeBoer, they could slip back into the abyss. The Alabama and Clemson model is obsolete. Just like the Nebraska Big 12/Prop 48 of yesteryear.
Old Nick accurately surveyed the current landscape of college football. There is no longer anything special about Alabama. The almighty dollar has evened the playing field a bit. They can still be very, very good. They should not expect to maintain elite level.Should have taken the PSU job. He’ll probably be available next November for us.

Every big program has a delusional fanbase. Heck even small programs have a delusional fanbase…Iowa (cough, cough).Yeah but their boosters and fans may be the most spoiled and delusional in college football. Reminds me of…….us.
If only NU wasn’t now on the hook for one of the largest golden parachutes in CFB history, that might be the case. A year from now I believe it would still cost more than $60 million to make a change. That’s almost Jimbo Fisher territory.Should have taken the PSU job. He’ll probably be available next November for us.
We didn't fall right into a pit in 1998.Old Nick accurately surveyed the current landscape of college football. There is no longer anything special about Alabama. Correct. DeBoer needs to somehow survive two more years at Bama.If only NU wasn’t now on the hook for one of the largest golden parachutes in CFB history, that might be the case. A year from now I believe it would still cost more than $60 million to make a change. That’s almost Jimbo Fisher territory.
To be fair, Minnesota has been down for decades longer.Every big program has a delusional fanbase. Heck even small programs have a delusional fanbase…Iowa (cough, cough).
The difference is no other big program has been down as long as we have. A lot of factors went into this.
I forgot about Minnesot…Thanks! I feel a little better nowTo be fair, Minnesota has been down for decades longer.
This is why it makes sense to always jump to the next school, as long as it is a lateral or better move. You get 3 or 4 more years and more money. Even coaches who want to do right will find it hard when a loss can completely change the direction of the program from fan, booster, and ad perspective. Fans are so petulant and whiny that they will dump a good coach just for the entertainment of watching them get fired and the excitement of seeing who gets hired...then the clock starts again.Should have taken the PSU job. Remember when this place melted down over paying Callahan 4 million to leave? lol.If only NU wasn’t now on the hook for one of the largest golden parachutes in CFB history, that might be the case. Yeah if Callahan would have had Rhule’s agent, NU would probably still be paying him.Remember when this place melted down over paying Callahan 4 million to leave? lol.
True.Yeah if Callahan would have had Rhule’s agent, NU would probably still be paying him.
Worked out pretty well for aTmIf only NU wasn’t now on the hook for one of the largest golden parachutes in CFB history, that might be the case. A year from now I believe it would still cost more than $60 million to make a change. That’s almost Jimbo Fisher territory.
