Again, this game was lost because our offense was horrible for the first three quarters. Our defense stopped them more than any other defense in football has or will all year. They also got more possessions against us then ANY other team all year. The blueprint for beating Texas A&M is run the ball and wear them down. Long drives that control the clock to try to keep Manziel from getting a rhythm. We have/had the personnel to do this but we decided to throw it way too much. Lay off Collins. He did what Saban could not do. Stop the Aggies greater than 50% of the time. Saban's offense gave Manziel three less chances, hence the difference.

Good stuff regarding the defense. I thought it was night and day compared to last year, and it does give me hope for the future and more confidence in Collins. And I agree about the blue print for beating A&M. It is exactly what Auburn and Alabama did. However, I'm not sure this game really fits that scenario; if you look at Sherrill's three phases, we basically tied them on offense and defense and lost the game on special teams.

after watching the recorded game last night I was not upset. Our secondary

is bad but they are very young and inexperienced. Our defensive front has the potential to be very good. Our linebackers played pretty well most of the game.

If the offense and special teams could get consistent we could win 2 or the last 3 but that is a big if.

Every team we have played this year simply targets

Whitley. I'm ready to watch someone else get beat for a TD. I thought the defense played very well. We hold them to field goals on some of those drives and we are in business. I was really disappointed in the first and goal from the 17 after the penalty. I thought we had a really good opportunity to stay in the game AFTER we had blown it with the kickoff return and shift momentum.

They simply answered in a big way every time we made a push. JFF is one of the

best college football players of all time, like him or not. We decided to die by the pass it appears and he made good on our defensive plan. We really did shut him down pretty good from a running perspective.

We may have outsmarted ourselves a little bit on this. We played a good bit of zone, presumably at least in part so that the DB's could be watching the QB rather than their receiver. But I'm not sure that A&M hasn't dialed back Manziel's running due to some of the beatings he's taken.

If I was an offensive coordinator I would force whitley into coverage too, and wear his *** out with the slot guy/any slot guy.

He used to be great at making tackles, and open field tackles. Now not so much. that has slipped with his coverage ability. At least you know J Cox could handle the coverage aspects better, his tackling I'd have to see.

The only problem I have with Cox back there is the fact he has never had to make the defensive calls before. He free lanced a lot in JUCO. Athelitically I agree with the thought if Hughes was still back there.

I think our defense has developed well considering the youth and injuries. Really sucks that Quay and James habe been a non factor (for whatever reasons). Would have been great for these two to have been what we were hoping they were. Then we could have C. Jones on the end where I believe he would be more effective. Still in all I'm mostly satisfied with the D. Yes to the DB's. Being a semi area of concern.

You do realize you gave up 51 points by early on in the 4th quarter, right? I think A&M hit the cruise button once they were up 24 points on yall at that point.

Maybe a little but they have three speeds on offense, fast, faster, and fastest*

They score as much as they can usually.

I think most of our optimism is based on the fact that if we can correct our secondary problems we might have a pretty serviceable defense.

Oh wow. Thanks for the heads-up....

We didn't realize that!

Did you realize that A&M scored 16 in the 1st, 7 in the 2nd, 14 in the 3rd, and 14 in the 4th. The 2 scores in the 4th were from epic 18 and 27 yard drives thanks to our O and special teams. Doesn't look like they hit the cruise to me whatever than means.

A&M scored enough to beat you two years in a row in Oxford and I really hope we do too to shut your trolling, snarky *** up.

Thanks for the cordial reply, 66. If you put it that way, I could see the optimism there. I think A&M was a bad matchup for yall, but I actually think yall will match up decently with Bama.

quick question, where was the lobotomy clinic located on the west concourse remodel? will the east side be getting one too, and if so, are they giving priority to bdc members? are there group rates?

last time i checked, we were 71st in scoring defense, but im the resident lunatic, so take that with a grain of salt. i cant wait to be lifted of this tiresome burden the way all of yall seemingly have. my lobotomy is going to be the ****....im going to request the frontal lobe be covered, smothered, chunked, scattered, and topped. im going to be like a new man after mine....im so envious of you all, but soon enough, we will be on the same page again.
