Is anyone else thinking teams are gonna bubble screen, draw, and shovel passus to death next year with us being a more vertical up the field defense like we have been reading about from players and coaches? I am excited to see it tomorrow, andI hope it, thedefense, will be even better than when Ellis was here. Just a little concerned.</p>

Sure, we'll see more of that stuff, because that's a way to counter an aggressive defense. I don't think it's something to really worry about, though.

was the fact that he was able to make adjustments throughout the game. The NOLA Bowl is a good example. USM got a 14-17 point lead on them, and after that, MTSU was able to shut them down.

So, I think that if a team runs draws, screens, and shovel passes against us, he will probably make adjustments and will be fine.

I think a lot of people hear "aggressive" and "blitzing" and they automatically think "Joe Lee Dunn". But the reality is very, very few people run their defense like Dunn did where it was almost always cover-1 or cover-0. Despite his aggressive mantra, I don't think Manny will be like Joe Lee Dunn. It sounds like we are going to run a 4-3 front- unlike Dunn's crazy assorted fronts or out of something like a 3-3-5. And while our formation may be basic, what we are going to do is blitz different people from different places and at the same time we are going to mix up our coverages a lot.

All of this is based on two games that I've seen Manny coach against us and USM.
