Do we have anybody on this team recruiting DT ?? Are we gonna put our extra safeties on the line ? Surely somebody is pursuing 2 or 3 real DT ? FFS leak some info out so we know somebody is at least putting in some effort. I know its early yet but damn

Again, if you were expecting this portal haul to be something that makes you feel better, you're going to be disappointed. That's no knock on Lebby. We're just never going to sign the true studs.
True studs? Hell, we would be happy with #2 common at this point, played last season with Construction Grade, and can't get Utility grade now.
Go back and look at the portal classes Leach got in 2021 and 2022. Those are about the best we can ever hope for.
And honestly, most of our defensive line and linebackers should probably be homegrown. That's where the state of MS shines.
Well I would prefer if they were homegrown but apparently the only place Turner can find DL is in the jucos. Obviously he can't recruit high school players. Apparently he can't recruit the transfer portal either. He schitt the bed on that last year and Hutzler was still with Bama during the fall period. We do have 2 returning but I wouldn't even count Dink. 2 years in a row injured.
According to Steve we are leading the country in portal signings with 3. That's wild. I guess I need to chill out...haha
For most of those, that's a good thing. Even a couple of the higher profile ones. Key is we HAVE to bring in a great portal incoming class.
I don't disagree, but losing 2 of your best WRs and one of your best DBs hurts. We can't get better if we cant retain the few good players we have.
Yeah. About 4 of the transfers are players I'd really like to keep, but at least 1 or 2 of them were causing some issues and may find their market value isn't as high as they think it is.
There are a good many DL rating between 85-89 in the portal. None that I would consider studs available. Oatis was the biggest and one of the highest rated. He's signing with Colorado. This portal crap seems to just backfill your roster with players on the line that are similar to the ones that are leaving, but we need anyone we can get on the line. All the 3 stars who think they can get paid are in the portal I guess.
There are quite a few that are rated in the 90s. I mean idk if we can get them of course. We need them tho. And yes I wouldn't want but maybe 4 or 5 guys out of our portal. Creed Pollock and Coleman for sure.
