We should model our program after him.
But, Arkansas doesn't have an arena as nice as us. Oops!
They don't have the history that we do. Oops!
They don't have the money that we do. Oops!

They squeaked by Auburn at home. Oops!
We lost to Florida on the road. Get over it, clowns!

of the Sheep's Ten Commandments, you yourself knows that two of them are:

1. John Pelphrey sux
2. Winning the West is more important than a "hot run" in March

Butler doesnt have their money, building, or history either- how do they continue to be ranked?
Havent we been in a Final Four since their last trip?
They are improving- we arent
They squeaked by Auburn- We squeaked by Georgia
They have already played Kentucky- we havent
Pelphrey supposedly sux- while Stansbury is an SEC Legend</p>

John Pelphrey does suck. His record speaks for itself.

And I would never say winning the west is better than a good tourney appearance. The tourney is what gives teams good national exposure. Its something we need. But unlike you, I believe the theory that if Stans gets us there enough times, we will eventually have our "hot run". If Gottfried did it, why can't Stans?

The only thing Stans hasn't done is take us deep in the NCAA Tourney. That is definitely something worth criticism, buy you can't get away with saying that winning the West is the ONLY thing that Stans has done: SEC Overall Title, multiple SEC West titles, SEC Tourney titles, AND THIRD MOST WINS IN THE SEC AFTER UK AND UF. <div>
</div><div>What other coach at MSU in ANY sport has accomplished all that Stansbury has? Only a couple compare.<div>
</div><div>Bama, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, and many other schools with a LOT more money than MSU have in the last several years failed to find coaches to accomplish all that Stansbury has.<div>

Why are you praising Pelphrey after he gets his team one game above .500in league play for the first time since he's been there?

And the impression I get by reading the board is not that Stans is a legend, but the majority opinion seems to be that he's the 5th best coach in the West and probably in the bottom4 of the SEC.

1 SEC title in 12 years (he aint winning it this year)
2 Tourney titles in 11 years
4th in SEC wins the last 10 years

And those are good things for sure...6 Tourney appearances in 11 years (probably 12)

He also is 12-19 vs the other 5 power conferences
He is 17-44 entering this season vs the top 25
He is 51-82 vs the top 50 entering this season

You also messed up in typing we have been better than LSU the last 10 years when we have clearly not been
3 SEC titles to our 1
Final Four to our none
Sweet 16 to our none

He has been decent, but as a college basketball writer wrote in my sig- Stansbury just hasnt been that successful...the SEC West is a very, very small part of college basketball

You always leave out the part of the story that suits your agenda.
We've been better than LSU, have beaten them about 4-5 more times than they've beaten us, had more wins in SEC play, won more West titles, made more NCAA tourneys, have 2 more tourney titles which some people consider SEC championships, thus had more consistent success than they have year in, year out. We've been better than them on a yearly basis, yet their peaks have been a tad higher than ours (and they had NBA players, we did not)

The last 8 years we've not only been good in our conference, but have probably been on average a top 30-35 team in college basketball, when there are 344 DI teams (and it's a lot easier for a small school to be good in basketball, so we're all really on an equal playing field)
So nationally, we're close to being in the top 10% of all of college basketball, quit using that argument

we aren't" = that about sums it up. That loss @Ark after being up by 10 in the 2nd half meant a lot. 5-3 would be big right now. Once again Stans has to pull a later season run to keep his legend alive. We could easily go 5-3 finish 2nd in SECW and not make the NCAAT. NIT this year = failure.
