I think a lot of USC fans thought Garcia would be the second coming of Taneyhill. But Taneyhill, for all of his antics on-the-field, didn't have the off-the-field issues that Garcia's had. He eventually cut the long hair and matured a good bit by the time he graduated. He is now a high school head coach in SC and has won several state championships the last few years.
