Jake Vickerson is now hitting just above .250 after a weekend to forget against Vandy in which he went 1 for 12 in the series. You would have to think Cohen is considering replacing Vickerson with Henderson at the top of the lineup. Henderson is averaging a team best .333 and also fits that prototypical "leadoff hitter type" role really well with his overall speed on the base path and his ability to lay down a bunt for a single. Not to mention Henderson is a senior and also owns the team's highest ob% at .477. Shouldn't it be worth a conversation among CoCo and crew?

I agree. Henderson should be the leadoff hitter and should be in the lineup every day, regardless if a RH or LH is pitching.

I back this times 1000

Loved having Demarcus as 9th in the lineup a lot last year, him and Frazier almost worked as a double lead off at times

What is the deal with Henderson? Is not not playing due to matchups? If that's so then that is another one of Cohens over managing issues. He CT and Vick should be our starting outfield 90% of the time. And the way CT has been playing at the plate I'm fine with either him or Henderson leading off. Put the one not leading off 9th and drop Vickerson to 6th. You'll have essentially two lead off guys batting before Detz and Rae then with Heck and Vick you'll have two plus runners hitting before the the 7th and 8th hole. I don't know slugging percentages on OBPs but I would even entertain swapping Detz and Pirtle. Detz has more power and Pirtle seems to be getting on base more right now which would be beneficial to Rea.

I'd be ok with that. I was thinking this weekend...

... That I'd like to see how C. T. looks when he gets back from injury. He had just started seeing the ball really well before he went out. Give him a couple of games back at 5/6 and see how he looks. If he's still feeling it, I wouldn't mind sliding him into the lead off spot.

Vickerson needs a tweak to his swing if he is going to continue to leadoff. Right now he is upper cutting way too much. You don't need a small speedy leadoff guy hitting lazy fly balls but Jake is hitting a ton of them right now.
