Nice leadership by Ware. Not sure player only meetings ever really help anything though.

Agreed. It's good for the guys to hold each other accountable, but ultimately it comes down to whether you win on Saturday or not.

Yeah, there are only a few examples of a players only meeting helping. Maybe we will get lucky and it helps for us, but thats probably wishful thinking. I'm glad to see Ware taking some leadership though, thats one good thing to see about it.Players-only meetings usually indicate a sinking ship.
I agree. Jones was one of the few D players that showed up against USM.The defense needs more people like Ware and Jordan Jones.
Unless you are there and know and understand what the reason for the meeting is, you cannot know whether it helped or not! Ever been in a players only meeting! I have and it may not always translate into wins but it sure as hell may help the players come closer together and deal with people who think they know more than they do about what they are dealing with!Even in basketball. I cant remember one damn players only meeting here at UK that helped at all.
A players meeting was called after the 49-0 drubbing of UK by LSU in 2006. We went on to beat UGA the next game and went like 4-1 the final 5 games to go 7-5.

Maybe trying to prevent that from happening?Jesus. We usually don't have to have a players only meeting until at least the second time we've been blown out on the season
Yes it can, players pointing fingers at other players after week 1 can definitely hurt.Cant hurt..no coaches to mess them up....i had to do that
Assuning it's a meeting of finger pointing. Doubtful that this is what the meeting was about.Yes it can, players pointing fingers at other players after week 1 can definitely hurt.
Yup. I've never heard of a players only meeting after one game. Maybe it has happened before, but I've never heard of it. These meetings usually happen mid to late season, not after the first game. What a mess...
I was unaware that one happened after that game. Thanks for that info. Maybe this game can be Stoops LSU loss moment. It needs to be.A players meeting was called after the 49-0 drubbing of UK by LSU in 2006. We went on to beat UGA the next game and went like 4-1 the final 5 games to go 7-5.
But, you may be right - it may not help.

Lol!!I was hoping the players only meeting wouldn't happen until after the Bama game at the earliest.

You are right. The players are doing everything they can to win and do something. The coaches on the other hand are notThey probably got together and said don't read boards like this one, ESPN, Scout and such. THEY put in the hard work, not us fans, and know what they need to do to take positive steps.
