he's been very pro-MSU from the beginning. He's been outspoken about "doing what he wants to do and not what people try to pressure him to do." Really seems to be a bright kid from the substance he brings to interviews.

Would be shocked if he doesn't stick with MSU, barring major unforeseen circumstances(coaching changes, etc...)

is that it really limits you on signing 25 most years. As long as we have the policy that we're only promising 4-year scholarships and if you're not on the 2-deep going into the 5th year, you won't be retained. If you do that, you come out way ahead and it helps make up the talent gap we have between us and the Bamas and LSU's.

The scholarships 99% of all football players sign are actually only one year agreements. IMO, in the SEC, you almost have to "have good attrition" yearly. Almost everyone does, especially the LSU/Bamas of the world. 5 * 25 /= 85... so in 5 years, 40 of those players have to be gone, or you've got to undersign...

We've got 17 seniors(lettermen)
18 juniors
21 sophs
16 redshirt fr
24 incoming fr

Needless to say, a few of these could be on academic scholarship, partial scholarship, etc... but it's 96 players for 85 scholarships.

I was around for the Felker and Bellard years, and we were not redshirting anywhere near as many players as we have been since Mullen got here. </p>

...If someone like Dan Mullen were in charge at that time, John Bond, Tim Parenton, and Billy Jackson all would have been redshirted and they were true freshmen who played significant minutes (well, okay, Parenton played the least minutes but he was the backup QB by the time the '80 season ended).

I don't think he'd even ever made a visit to campus when he committed to us. I can't help but think it was a ploy to scare some folks in order to get a higher offer.

as the teams we beat out to get Mix. Never hurts to get that type of recruiting pub on the Worldwide leader. Wish we could see Mix pancake the 17 out of Channing Ward a few times during his time at State.

That's correct. Snoop was never "committed", he did it to help get Market get a solid offer. I told the board when it happened, that Snoop wouldn't stay committed to MSU.

Mix has always been about MSU. The past few losing seasons hurt us with Mix. He has made it clear that he wants to go to a program that is winning right now. I think he'll definitely stick with his commitment to MSU. If by some chance he doesn't, I hope we land him.

Either way...nice pick up for MSU. 17 all these rationalizations from Yancy and his merry band of ****** *** kissers. Mix is a solid player who had a solid offer from OM. Any talk otherwise is delusional. Yancy never said that Mix didn't have a solid offer. He said that Mix was still being evaluated, which he knew his posters would take and spin into "doesn't have a solid offer". His posters took the bait, hook, line, and sinker.

Mullen is hitting his stride in recruiting. Going into South Panola andgetting a nationally recruited o-linemen gives me hopethat players who can make a real difference in our programare starting to give State a longer look than previous years. This is not good for Ole Miss.

We are reading WAY too much into this. A "paper offer" is the only offer a South Panola kid ever gets.

To be 6-foot-4, 315pounds, having offers from Ole Piss, Alabama amd Arkansas and to be one of thefifth best offensive guard in the nationsays a lot. He will definitely be a great asset to protect the QB! Coming out of South Panola, I hope he knows how to Read, Write and do Math!
