QB - Shrader, Mayden or a JUCO/transfer
RB - Hill, Witherspoon, Marks
WR - Mitchell, Payton, Williams, Heath, Gardner, Ducking
OL - Parker, Reese, Smith, Eiland, Sharp, Johnson, Cross, Cunningham, Dolcine
TE - Jones, Spivey

CB - Dantzler, Williams, Emerson, Jones
S - Morgan, Peters, Murphy, Guidry
LB - Gay, Thompson, Wheat, Brule, Johnson
DT - Lovett, Crumedy, Love, Key, McCrae, Pickering
DE - Jones, Odom, Lawson, Davis

We might really not be THAT terrible next year, especially if Hill, Dantzler and Thompson are back, which it seems they will be. Need to keep Mayden or find an older quarterback so Rogers can redshirt. I really hope Pickering and the rest of the true freshmen defensive tackles are redshirting, I know he in particular has now played 4 games. I don't see the need in having he and Lovett, Lovett, Crumedy and Love all in the same class.

Either way, we are now playing for 2021 and 2022. No matter the coach.

QB - Logan Burnett has entered the transfer portal. I think Mayden will transfer as well. Our QB depth will be interesting next year.

RB - I think Hill is gone.

LB - Gay and Thompson might be gone.

Moorhead will have to recruit just as hard his current players too.

Does a walk on have to enter the transfer portal? I guess that would enable coaches from other schools to contact him, but he is already free to contact them.

Where are they going to go? Seems to me like the NFL has to want the player, not the other way around.

I think we've hyped these guys up too much. Gay is the one that's got the most NFL potential to me, and he isn't going anywhere unless he just wrecks Ole Miss and the ensuing bowl game.

If Hill and Gay had to make the decision today I think they’d both be gone.

Barring a major injury between now and the declaration deadline, Hill is 100% gone. He can’t do anything to improve his stock in 2020, and will be a mid-round pick. At a limited shelf-life position, he is smart to go ahead and get his money.

Gay and Thompson, just depends on their measurables and what feedback they get from the draft advisory folks. Could go either way.

I think Hill and Thompson are gone. Good possibility that Dantzler is too. I think Gay returns for a full year though.

We should win the amount of games next year that we should have this season. 7-8 wins with an outside and way outside shot at 9.

If Hill finishes the season as the SEC's leading rusher, then I really don't see how he could improve his draft position by playing another year. I will be shocked if he stays.

Pickering and Russell have only played in 4 games thus far. That Inisukawu guy hasn't played at all. Not sure about Harris. I see no reason to play them in the remaining 3 games.

We also have Young and Robinson that are going to be sophomores next year. That's like 6 DTs in one class. That's how you end up with bullcrap like we saw last year.

Add on to this - unfortunately I just glanced at our 2020 schedule.

New Mexico - W
at NC State - Tossup, they aren't good, but it's hard to call for a win and Doeren's a good coach
Arkansas - Tossup, they could be improved with a lot of young players
Tulane - W, but if we've lost to NC State and Arkansas, could Willie Fritz Croom Moorhead??
Texas A&M - L, they should peak next year
at Alabama - L
at LSU - L
Auburn - L dear God at this stretch
Missouri - Tossup, who knows what they will have
at Kentucky - Tossup, who know who their coach is
Alabama A&M - W
at Ole Miss - Tossup, but ripe for their new coach to beat us down

5-7 is probably best case scenario. Bye Bye Joe, bring home HUD to capitalize on 2021 and 2022.

Hill is ready for the NFL, I don't think another year does anything for him.

Gay is ready from a talent standpoint, but I'm sure he could improve his draft stock tremendously by coming back for a full season. I think he comes back.

Thompson needs to come back and have an Anthony Dixon type transformation from junior to senior year. The combo of Thompson and Gay could help both of them improve their stock for the 2021 draft.

Dantzler... hard to say. He's got the skills but he's just so dang skinny. I don't think he goes very high if he's drafted this year, which means he probably should come back. But I think he's more likely to leave than anyone other than Hill.

King Ani is a DE. We were discussing DT and this year. This year we have 2 senior DT. One was suspended. The other not very good. Then we had freshmen and RS freshmen. We had no sophomore or junior DT on the roster due to recruitment mistakes. Research the roster a little more. Pickering and Crumedy have to play.

It's just funny...

how big-time programs' players leave early if they're going to be a first rounder...maybe second.

Ours leave if there is a remote shot they will be drafted.

Willie Gay owes his school a full year of contribution next year.

I'm not talking about Crumedy. Of course, he has to play, along with Lovett, who is a redshirt freshman too.

Thus far, Pickering and Russell have only played in 4 games. We don't have to play them anymore. Alabama? Who cares. Abilene Christian? Don't need them. Ole Miss? Lee Autry will be back.

We need Crumedy and Lovett to be sophomores, and Pickering and Russell to be freshmen next year.

Well....and there has to be hope for the following year to be successful too. Big time programs usually have that hope. We don't.

Using a player when he needs to is one thing I'm not gonna criticize Moorhead for. Hard to redshirt a 5* FR when you have zero experience returning at his position for 8 games out of 12. He's paid to win games today, not to redshirt players who might still be here in 2023.

Only problem I had with Pickering was not getting him more reps in our first 4 games.

We will now have 6 defensive tackles in one class, and they will be sophomores next year (Lovett, Crumedy, Pickering, Love, Robinson, Young). That is Dan Mullen level gapped up.

Jackson will be a junior, and Cooley a freshman. Plus whatever JUCO guys get pushed on the interior.

Maybe some of those guys can move to offensive line, but there is a logjam of guys there too (good thing, since there are 5 positions rather than freaking TWO).

I can't imagine 4 of those 6 above will be satisfied being depth, rather than starting.

Josh Robinson says hello.

Ah yeah, exactly. J-Rob got drafted and got paid exactly the same as he would have if he left after his senior year. Which wasn’t a high pick or a huge amount of money, but he got it sooner than he would have. And he would have gotten more money and had a longer career if he had better work ethic. Hopefully Kylin doesn’t have that problem.

Economics 101, making a dollar now is way better than making a dollar a year from now.

Well the good news with the new redshirt rule is that its now really easy to redshirt some of them if there is a season ending injury or just lack of progression on the depth chart. There is no rule that says you only have the first year to redshirt somebody.

I cannot remember a single big play from Thompson this year. I do remember him being a step or two slow and whiffing on some potential big plays. Thompson would greatly benefit from a new S&C staff probably more than any player on our roster.

If Thompson leaves, I doubt he goes higher than the 5th round. His tape this year along with being out of shape should screw any chance he had at a top 4 round pick. Gay won't have film with him playing the tougher teams. Good games against LSU, AU, and Bama are what get you drafted high. Kylin will be a 5-6th round pick unless he blows up against Bama or runs a sub 4.4 at the combine. It looked like he was battling an injury on Saturday but high draft picks don't get caught from behind like Kylin. He can be a great NFL back but they just don't draft RBs very high unless they have top end speed.

Dantzler can possibly get drafted top 3-4 rounds like Darryl Williams but probably not 2nd round. One thing that kind of hurts is the Senior Bowl has helped a lot of our guys show out. Dantzler, Hill, Gay, or Thompson, won't have that opportunity.

I don't think they are leaving but I wouldn't blame them if they did. I know I would get paid as soon as I could. If they all come back this team might be pretty good next year. If we aren't good, it definitely won't be a lack of talent issue.

Goodness we've got some stupid fans

Erroll Thompson doesn't have the measurables to get drafted right now. He'll be back.

Hill - I think he could benefit from improving his pass blocking, but I'll concede that if he leads the SEC in rushing, he's probably gone. That being said, just leaving doesn't guarantee you a successful NFL career. Staying and learning to pass block could legitimately help him make an NFL roster & lasting for 5 years. Look at J Rob. Got drafted & played but wasn't well rounded enough. Meanwhile Boobie had a nice career because he had versatility.

Gay - Has top 2 round talent with 7th round production. He needs to come back & just have a solid season. It'll boost him 2+ rounds in the draft.

Dantzler - I don't have a great feel for this one. He hasn't seemed great this year, but CBs are different. Not sure what he'll do. May depend on how he is vs Bama honestly.

My guess is that we get 1 of the 3 back. I'm not considering Thompson because he isn't an NFL prospect right now. Needs to get in the weight room & reshape his body. If we get 2 of the 3 back, then everyone should be ecstatic.

I'd love to get Hill back & Gay back. If Dantzler leaves, it's not ideal but I like J Jones & Emerson. I think we can compensate for losing him

We also have Walker, plus a 4 star recruit. We will be alright. Then a couple of underrated recruits.
