Why aren't we excited about Dooley as an option? He has an impressive coaching and educational (we've learned this is important) background. He was LSU's recruiting coordinator under Saban. So, he knows the SEC and he is probably a good recruiter. He is young and smart. He's been coaching a while and his team has shown marked improvement from year one to year two under his leadership. His players speak highly of him.

I'm not saying he is the best choice because Peterson and Gill are my favorites but Dooley would be a good choice as well to me.

Why is it again that he doesn't get much support?

Especially when 3 of those 5 wins were vs. 3-9 Utah St., 2-10 Idaho, and 3-9 New Mexico St.

Why would a 37 year old up-and-coming, hotshot, well-pedigreed son of a big-time AD, consider a 40 year old up-and-coming, quasi-hotshot head coach AND ATHLETIC DIRECTOR at his school, son of a legend AD? If you're Byrne, do you want your easy replacement sitting right right down the hall of the Pork Palace? Do you want Vince Dooley Monday Morning Quarterbacking your AD decisions?

I think you know the answers.

Dooley would be way down the list of who I would want to take over. He hasnt done anything special at La Tech and I dont want the baggage that comes along with that last name.

Not saying we can, but Petersen has dominated that conference since day one (with the help of Dan Hawkins, yes). But why would you want to start at the 3rd place team in the WAC for prospective coaches?

Regardless, I hope Dooley is way down on our list.
