Yet another reason to subscribe.

Didn't know Jeter had an MSU tie. Says he might be coming to a football game here.

I would've never made that connection. I knew Marcus went to ECCC, but did we even recruit him?<div>

Jeter was born in Jersey and raised in Kalamazoo. He had an offer from Michigan to play baseball there.<div>
</div><div>Maybe some kind of link through Buck Showalter when he managed the Yankees? Even if there was any, that would have been at the end of Buck's role with the Yankees and very very early days of Jeter at NY. Oh well, I guess we will find out soon.</div>

He would be coming with his Marcus Thames to watch his nephew Dennis (De NY us) Thames (like the river) play.

you're effort in leading us towards the correct pronunciation of Thames' last name... I'm a little hesitant to believe that more than 10% of the people on this board know about the Thames River and it's pronunciation... Excellent reference though.

is because my World History/Geography teacher in 10th and 11th grade was born in the UK and her mother still lives there. If there was one piece of UK geography that she wanted us to remember, it was the Thames river and it's proper pronunciation.

He was at a game last year with Curtis Granderson when they were playing with Detriot and before they got traded to Yank town. Slick will be in town for the November games after the Series, especially since he lives in Starkvegas.

you believe no more than 10% of the people on this board have never heard of the River Thames?

Is it because you believe you are just that much smarter or every one here is just that stupid.

I find it far less impressive that the only reason you know the name is because your high school teacher drove it into your head.

You really say some stupid **** sometimes.</p>

posting too serious sometimes.

Just out of curiousity though.... How else would one find out about the second longest river in the UK other than travel to London or high school/college geography?

Does SPS have a ton of river freaks or something?
