I was thinking he was slower than 4.24. He has great vision in the defensive secondary as well as in kick returning. I think someone should sign him. Do you know if he was been staying in shape and trying out for teams?

quarter in kick and punt returns in the SEC the whole time he was year. It's amazing how one play (the Ole Miss return that ALMOST set our program back 5 years) can change someone's view of a player.</p>

But he screwed that up before ever making it to training camp. As to the original thread topic, he ran a 4.43 at our on-campus Pro Day. I suspect that 4.6 he posted at the combine was largely due to his ankle still being effed up after injuring it in the Egg Bowl. Unfortunately, I don't think an NFL team will risk touching him after he burned the Giants.

It's widely known Stringer never wanted to coach special teams and had no clue how to coach them. When Crooms talked to him about naming him ST coach, Stringer told him as much. Crooms told him don't worry about it, he'd handle it and named him STs coach anyway. I suspect he'd have had much different results under Mullen. Being told run into the wedge come hell or high water just doesn't work in this league.

that Stringer had four years to figure it out since Croom was on "the seven year plan".

Either that or Croom was too lazy to try to find a replacement for Famous Amos Jones.

with left handed cigarettes just a couple of days before he was scheduled to fly up to camp. Like I said, I don't see anyone touching him now. Sad, because he definitely had the talent to make it at that level.

Probably both, Todd. But I'd lean moreso towards the lazy explanation. That, and arrogance to think LT would always be around to protect him so he had cart blanche to be a complete moron.

I don't want to sound like Mel Kiper, but Pegues always looked stiff to me. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but he didn't look smooth or fluid when running. He looked stiff or muscle-bound.
