Anybody here know anything about his draft stock? I know a lot of that remains to be seen at the combines and such... But I've done a little research and everybody seems to think 2nd or 3rd round. And his only negative seems to be his size because he's a little stocky for a corner, but too short for a safety. I say put him on the field, and he'll make plays.

Also, one particular site (don't know if it is reputable or not) seemed to think he had off the field issues. Outside of the cop incident a few years ago and the bogus open container deal, what has he come up in?

He's one of the top rated behind guys like Western Michigan's Louis Delmas and Mizzou's William Moore. And though he checks in at about 5-9ish, he'll be a starter by his second season. The guy is too good.

NFL scouts. Also wasnt he suspended for the La Tech game this year for some minor rule infraction or something? That kind of stuff will catch some attention as well, but I doubt it will be a big deal. He should be late 2nd early 3rd round and will be a good addition for depth if nothing else.

And even those little things like missing class and getting suspended are scrutinized by the NFL. Pacman and guys like him have ruined it, and now any past indiscretion you have, no matter how small, is considered a possible red flag.

That's why I keep thinking Greg Hardy may lose himself some money in the draft. He hasn't had any real off-field issues at least legally, but his dedication to the team and his general weirdness will scare a lot of teams away no matter how good he is.

Powe has no use for an alarm clock since he is too dumb to know how to tell time. Pillows are no big deal really. But then again, Powe is dumber than a sack of bricks so he very well could have stolen an alarm clock. I apologize for the insulting title to this post.</p>

even our walk-on true frosh players petition the NFL and enter the draft and are first round picks. If Pegues had been smart, he would have come to Ole Miss so that he could have been a first round pick as well.

Was it JJ?

I know Norwood and Smoot were second round picks, but I can't remember a first round pick at MSU since.

Is that right?

Eric Moulds and Walt Harris. I think Harris was taken after Moulds, but I may be wrong about that.

For the record, I've always thought that it wasn't necessarily that we lacked talent, but rather we didn't develop the talent we had well.

Moulds and Harris were our last two, taken in the 1996 draft. Hard to believe 12 seasons later, Harris is still a starter, and still plays at a high level. I think he led the league in picks two years ago.

By the way, that team with the two first round picks went 3-8. I'd love to see how many teams with two first round draft choices won fewer than 6 games in the same season all time.
