Desoto Co passes guidelines for recruiting student athletes

Don't have the link, but all coaches have to allow colleges access to any student athlete that they are interested in. The parents have to be notified also for permission to release academic info. Guess the OB hc pissed off the right people!

It will get college coaches' feet in the door, but I believe HS coaches (OB coach in particular) will still steer their players where they want them to go. But it's good to see State, UM, and USM coaches will actually have a chance now.</p>

Mullen was already in the door. This helps out Ole Miss more than anyone.

Samsel is still going to steer his players where he wants to, with some exceptions, just like he always has.

Samsel may be placating Mullen some, but unless Mullen plans on giving him an assistant coach job down the line, and he may, I don't see how MSU's footing would've changed much with Samsel.

This may have happened sooner, but neither Orgeron nor Croom had enough clout built up at any point to be able to raise hell about it.
