Hombre and the Raven are tough. Camp Creek is challenging but playable. Kelly plantation, regatta bay, and Baytowne are all good open courses. Plan to play Indian bayou and seaside when I go down next week.

its only $60 with a member. Buy, beg or steal. #14 is alone is worth it. At least go try if your are going to Sandestin.

The guys in this group haven't played much if any since October last year...Each of us should still shoot in low 80's to high 70's ....looking for something playable with a little challenge but something that is not too damaging to the pocket book. Well kept is a plus....not interested in a goat ranch...play 'em all the time just don't want to play one in Destin (if there is one).

They are 30 min from Destin but damn good golf. They are owned by the same company and you may get a package deal, but I'm not sure.If you want a good track in good shape that wont break you Emerald Bay (Very Small Greens)and Indian Bayou (Older Florida Style Track)are a good choice. The Raven at Sandestin is a tricked up over priced POS. Burnt Pine at Sandestinis good track as good as the first two I wrote about, availability is the issue. Kelly Plantation is a very playable track that is also good golf (Alot of Room to Miss), Regatta Bay on the other hand is normally in good shape but I dont care for it as much as the others kinda choppy. Hope this helps.

The Links at Sandestin is a decent challenge from the tips (only 6750, but tight) and only 75$. That is the cheapest in Destin/Sandestin for a decent course. For a great course if don't mind driving 20-30 minutes, hit up Windswept Dunes (7700yds, 76.8/143 from the tips, $62)
http://www.windsweptdunes.com/ It is by far my first choice to play when in Destin. If it was in Destin/Sandestin the rates would be double. Always in good shape and a great course. Emerald Bay was in crappy condition this past week.

I've played it once, it's beautiful. There is no way, unfortunately, you will be able to get on without knowing a member. Save you energy and play Indian Bayou or Raven. KP is hard as hell and touristy, along with Emerald Bay. DO NOT PLAY the Links @ Sandestin or Seascape course. Baytowne is a fun course and less expensive than most, but don't expect it to be Sawgrass.

agree on Sharks Tooth... fine! Well worth the drive from Destin but it might be a little more than 30 min. But I thought it was private? When my group played it I thought we had some sort if inside connection...

take the best rate you can get out of Kelly, Regatta or Raven and you will be more than happy.
