Why would the SEC want Texas? They have destroyed every conference they have ever been in with their arrogance.

Texas' arrogance makes Alabama look normal.

I, for one, would love to see A&M in the SEC with Texas out playing in the Pac 16. However, I keep reading too many reports that are saying A&M, Texas and Texas Tech are sticking together.

And pretty much always have been. There's a reason why they met together to discuss the next move and left Tech out of the discussion.

That's not to say they'll stay in the same conference, but they generally always involve each on big decisions like this.

Even if they end up in seperate conferences I see them continuing to play in each sport..though if OU is also in the SEC that would be two huge rival comes tied up in OOC.

A&M's AD has been quoted that as long as A&M and Texas continue to play each other, they don't necessarily have to be in the same conference. And they will continue to play each other no matter what happens. This whole "the Texas schools are sticking together" is really based on the politics of Texas and being sure Tech and Baylor don't get left out in the cold. At this point, the win-win for everybody is for A&M to go to the SEC and Texas, Tech, and Baylor to go to the PAC-10. Otherwise, Texas is going to have to try to convince the Texas politicians to let them go to the PAC-10 without Baylor. They'd probably go along with that in the end, but it would cost Texas a lot of political capital.

having Texas and TAMU added to the west and 2 others added to the East would bring the SEC in unparalleled dominance...

in case you have not noticed, adding Texas to the SEC TV market would be a windfall.. are you not smart enough to acknowledge the financial ramifications?

we would be so LUCKY to have BOTH of them in the WEST.. have you lost your God Damned mind?

you worry about *** hole fans and rivalry developments?

TAMU and Texas along with VA Tech and Miami woud be a 17ing WINDFALL and would benefit EVERYBODY in the SEC....

South Florida woud be a great addition.. we need TWO markets in FL and TWO in TEXAS... and another in Virginia..

...I'll give you a pass on the stupidity of that question since you claimed you are playing devil's advocate.

Let's see:

1. Texas would make the already rich SEC insanely rich. And the top drawer football conference an insanely top drawer football conference.

2. Texas is a top national team every year in football, baseball & basketball. That=money, & lots of it. That also = TV & lots of it.

3. Texas would lock-up the Southwest as far as SEC TV exposure.

4. With Texas in the SEC, you would have Texas vs. Alabama in football, Texas vs. LSU in baseball & Texas vs. Kentucky in basketball. I wonder how many millions of dollars those 3 sporting events will generate?

I could go on, but the SEC would be nuts to not accept Texas into the SEC.

but from our collective (UM and MSU) vantage point down here, Texas just looks like another team ready to kick our collective asses in every sport every year.

At least the paycheck would help heal the wounds, I suppose.

but I am serious - they are the core reason the SWC broke up and they are the reason the Big XII is breaking up.

Their in-state rival of over 100 years is seriously considering parting ways despite the fact that they will be blackballed if they do - all for a reason. Texas is a bunch of arrogant ********. Pasadena, California last January could have been the largest collection of arrogance in world history.

get out from underneath the UT power grab. Maybe, just maybe, they'd like to join the SEC and join the most powerful Conference and leave them in their wake. A big FU to Texas - join the SEC and leave those arrogant bastards hanging. I'd imagine OK State would probably be thrown in to get this deal to the table and then we could perhaps take Virginia Tech to round out the 4th addition to get us to 16 teams.

If this is how it went down, Florida, UGA & South Carolina wouldn't have to worry about their instate rivals from getting in. Texas gets screwed. We get A&M and OU. It would be a win/win/win all around.
