Anyway I wish AD would have stayed healthy, was a good series until then.
Well, considering that Booker never started a single game in college, whereas Kaminsky was the National Player of the Year, you can kinda see why. An excusable error.
LOTS of people didn’t realize that Booker had this kind of superstar potential. And I believe Cal is one of those people.

The guy has developed mentally and physically in profound levels since he left school. That’s what you get with kids.
Booker had a lot more in his bag when he was here too. But we needed him to play a smaller role than he was capable of to make it work because we were so loaded.
Booker was a prolific scorer in high school. We could have put the ball in his hands and mauve been better on offense. But you would have been giving up a LOT on defense to play him over the twins. He got cooked in that Wisconsin game. He was pretty bad on D when he was here.

True. The thing is, Cal should’ve moved away from the switch everything defense. Now, if Poythress had been healthy, the switching defense would’ve worked against Wisconsin. He was the one hybrid forward we had that could really matchup with them. Booker and Lyles just couldn’t do it.
Cal also should’ve had the guys shooting more 3s to stretch their defense. That’s why we couldn’t find a passing lane to get the ball to KAT late. They knew we weren’t gonna shoot the outside shot. They covered KAT like a blanket.
Hate to say it, but Cal got absolutely out coached in that game. Didn’t help that Bo Ryan was his buddy. He’s always had a problem beating his buddies. It is what it is.
I will say, if the game had been officiated evenly, we win. Still, Cal wouldn’t adjust in order for us to win. We just weren’t gonna get the calls in that game.

Our best lineup in 2015 would've been to start Booker at the three spot instead of starting Lyles out of position there (not that Lyles wasn't good, he really was, but Booker would've been even better starting at that spot).
But Lyles was higher rated in HS, so Cal felt he had to play him above Booker.
Could've probably gone for 60 if PHX needed it.

I get tired of this. What’s his face that’s transferred to Washington didn’t play over SGA. At least not most of the year or when it mattered.
I agree with this 1,000%. You could’ve even went with Book at the 2 and Aaron at the 3. Either way, that would’ve been the best lineup IMO.
I liked Lyles, but just never was real crazy about him TBH. My Father in Law, OTOH, absolutely loved Lyles. I always thought it was because Lyles kinda had an old school type game. His lack of a shot outside of 15 feet really hurt that team IMO. He also wasn’t the best defender in the world.

Booker is a superstar. Even in ‘15 - you can’t tell me he didn’t deserve to start at the 2/3.
I mean you realize humans are allowed to have a political opinion and are allowed to voice them? I just can’t imagine that’s a reason someone would then call another man a lapdog or think negatively about them. Maybe I’m in the minority but I don’t base anything that I enjoy around what their political views are. People that don’t eat at Chik fila because of the owners views are weird.
