Have watched him 7 or 8 times over the last couple years and he's as fast or faster than Timmons but also has football skills and instincts (which you can't coach)

There was a story on him a couple of weeks ago that said he ran a 4.18 forty which I don't believe btw....but he is fast when you watch him....he also makes plays with his speed which a lot of guys with speed can't do

WHat's disappointing is I don't even think he's getting a sniff from our staff and he's right under their nose

Your 2016 recruit Davonte Robinson and Devin Gentry are two of the fastest FB players in the state. Gentry's family are U of L fans and should Petrino come calling he probably would go there.

I'm a track guy and Robinson's 10.7 100m and Gentry's 10.76 100m are not slow. 40 time is as much about technique as it is speed as well as the method of timing used.

His dad was my coach when I was probably 10 years old. If I recall huge Louisville fans. No way he would pick Kentucky over city college.

Maybe he is smarter than his dad-----maybe he doesn't want to go to a city college that wants to win at all costs-----maybe he doesn't want to major in basketweaving to keep the teams APR up------maybe he sees advantages in UK's tutoring program and strength programs-----maybe he doesn't want a scumbag as a head coach-----maybe he realizes that a State University has more overall fans and influence than a city college-----maybe he enjoys a great campus with a lot of tradition-----maybe he doesn't want to play with a bunch of players that were kicked out of other programs-----maybe the drug culture isn't something he wants to adopt as his own.

There is even a chance that his parents are some of the few UL fans that don't fully endorse UL's win at any and all costs philosophy, their coaches, BP and RP, or the recently departed hurtt (not to mention the Minardi Hall mastermind) and wouldn't want him to have to run into jurich or Pitino even occasionally.

Who knows, I know a lot of fans think winning is the only thing at any cost, but maybe he isn't one of them.

I've never heard of this kid? What position does he play?
He is Male High's starting RB. He played on defense prior to this season. He's about 5 ' 10" or so and about 180 lbs. He's also a sprinter (sub 11 sec) on the track team.

Never seen the kid play live. I did watch a little HUDL film... Pretty good player, but his highlights were not nearly as impressive as Sihiem King's, IMHO. My guess is that the UK staff likes Zaire Hughes and Davonte Robinson better. I liked their highlights better too, again, IMHO.

Saw him play against St. X and Trinity this season and was very impressed. Only mid-major offers so far. Well-spoken kid and I'll bet he's a good student.

The fact that Devin has speed is his best asset. He has not had an overall impressive career. Because of his speed he could be developed into a offensive or defensive player.

Probably offer as a walk on for now. If we miss out on any top targets then we take a closer look at him. IMHO

We have enough 180# or so RB's. If he can play elsewhere, great.

I don't doubt that at all. However, UK desires taller players on D and they already have a few too many smaller guys at the O skill positions. Furthermore, UK's 2016 class is almost full and UK isn't going to drop any of their current commits who are considerably taller and/or heavier (Gilliam, Robinson, Hughes, Griffin, Snell & Rose). That said, I do think that Stoops would love to have him as a walk on & he might eventually earn a scholly going that route.

Walk on may be his best bet if he desires to play at either UK or U of L.
