De'Vinner Already Changing his Story

I the Commercial Appeal this morning, De'Vinner has already changed from saying Redmond received $200 to now saying he received $150 to $100, yet the media has already reported the high number of $200 all over the place to make the story seem worse. I wonder if in a few day it will be found out that a booster borrowed a few dollars from Redmond to buy a Coke, and he was just paying Redmond back in front of De'Vinner.

This De'Vinner guy stinks to high hell. Him going on radio did nothing to clear his name, and in fact did just the opposite. You don't go on a radio show and incriminate a college football program without facts and reporting exactly what you saw happen. To change your story less in less than 24 hours tells me one of two things: 1. You really don't know what you saw and are just guessing or 2. You are lying about the whole thing and can't remember what you said because you made the whole damn thing up.

Furthermore, we need to all settle down. There may be more to this that De'Vinner doesn't even know about, but people on here panicking about a De'Vinner saying that he saw a booster give the $150 dollars and a jacket is just stupid. The NCAA has bigger fish to fry and we turned ourselves in. This whole thing is being blown out of proportion but he media, and the testimony is coming from an incredible source that has already changed his story. Please settle down, you people are letting the media get to you and are refusing to look at the facts.

Why is crap like this even newsworthy especially for ESPN? I would without hesitation say that 50% or more of all BCS football players get more money than this in post-game handshakes every week.

Maybe DE'Vinner and Rodgers can go into the resteraunt business. They can sell fired chicken skin after all that is the best part about fried chicken. The box combo could be four skin and fries with drink and roll. They could call the resteraunt "Four Skin".

Wardlaw and Stevens blew this out of proportion when they started screaming its over a car and loss of 15 scholly's...I think it's been rather subdued around here- with people just pointing out what a scumbag Devinner is.

Coach, you keep screaming about Stevens and Wardlaw blowing this out of proportion. Can you provide a link to where Wardlaw made either of those claims?

Need to call Marcello, Locke, and Veazy... I heard he also got a bbq sandwich.

With Slaw on the side.

How this is such a big story show just how low the media has gone. It's all about 24/7 cycles and internet hits. There is more posture and tease to this story than meat. Throw a tease out on twitter, get an invite to do a local radio segment, reference a national reporter like Shad (who's referencing you) for credibility... repeat the cycle until the web traffic dies down.

Coach, what are your penalty predictions?

I'm guessing 2 years probation, loss of in home visits, and 4 scholarships over 2 years

He was interviewed on H2H and was screaming like a little girl that we were going to get hammered.

Maybe I should be more concerned than I am, but I don't see any reason to think that MSU is going to get hammered for any of this. An "alleged" $100 or $150" handshake, a discount on a 2004 Mustang, and a nice jacket? Are you kidding me? There are schools paying $200K for single players, setting parents up with jobs, and getting involved with grade changing scandals at the 17ing high schools, and people are worried about this?

On top of all of this, MSU has clearly made no effort to cover this up, they fired the coach that was involved with this incident, and all signs seem to point to the fact that no one other than that assistant coach had any clue that this happened. I don't care if we are little ol' MSU... that isn't anything to lose sleep over.

Quite frankly, if there's anyone that needs to be nervous right now, it's the fans of the schools that haven't heard much. Mainly Auburn. Between Veazy, Caulkins, and a couple other Memphis area reporters, there is a lot of smoke floating around right now that indicates that Auburn is about to be in serious trouble. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't looking forward to it.

Oh and by the way...

He said he has since spoken at an MSU coaching clinic and worked a camp in Starkville this summer

Hope he enjoyed those appearances because his stupid *** will NOT be invited back

Veazey was on the early show on Sports56. He, plus the host, didn't seem to think handing out 100s is a huge story. Veazey went on to say he thought the grade change with the former AU player was a bigger story. The show host were even joking that we were small time handing out 100s instead of duffle bags of cash. They called DeVinner's story.... sour grapes.

He never mentioned a car or a loss of 15 scholarships. He reported improper benefits. He reported the EXACT thing people are "predicting" in this same thread. He said it was being rumored that we will have 1-2 years probation and lose a few visits.

He NEVER once reported that there was a car involved or that we would lose a massive amount of scholarships. People who have a deep hatred for him are putting words in his mouth to try and diminish his credibility. He has YET to be wrong on anything he has reported regarding this situation.

Is there any word or concern that Redmond will be ruled ineligible over this?

Why is no one mentioning that every picture I've seen of this guy has him in Ole Miss gear? That's not an important detail?

I don't get the NCAA at all. Our conference opponents have SIX STRAIGHT national titles and they're honed in on us? Yeah, we're the ones cheating. Not those guys with the crystal footballs, they're squeaky 17ing clean. Give me a 17ing break.

Care to provide a link to refute what I just said? Just one link to where he said there was a car involved or that we would lose 15 scholarships? If someone provides that info I'll admit I was wrong. One link to something he reported which has turned out false regarding this investigation.

There are so many people running around pointing the finger at this site or that site and this reporter and that reporter. Now they are blaming DeVinner for our issues. This ALL happened because one guy decided to "help" recruit. From what I've gathered this is a well known internet poster who is apparently a good guy and well liked. I know the username of the guy and I know which site he posts on. I also know that most of the people over here screaming about all the sites and reporters are also members of that site.

All his buddies are circling the wagon around this one guy and screaming you're all just trying to get us in trouble by reporting lies. One guy caused all this, ONE GUY and it wasn't a site owner or a reporter or DiVinner, or Ole Miss.

And no I'm not Michael. There are enough reasons for people to bash him and I won't take up for him on those issues but this one isn't it.

So now you throw out accusations and then put the onus on Michael to disprove you? Nice.

It doesn't matter If he said those exact words, he was trying to make it sound terrible for MSU, just like all of the rest of the douchebag media around here. You obviously didn't hear the interview because you would have thought we were in deep **** based on Wardlaw's interview. They're all pieces of **** that are guessing at what has and will happen, hoping to be the first to get it right. Meanwhile, they get praise when they're correct, but no responsibility when they're incorrect after all of this.

Wardlaw is no different than Marcello, Locke, etc....otherwise, why doesn't one of them go to an interview and help calm this thing down since they know it's not as huge as the media is making it out?? Do they think negative interviews are the only ones they can do about State?

So the NCAA should level penalties based on the person's attire? Oh, nevermind that the offenders where a State booster and the WR coach. He's wearing Ole Miss clothes. Go get them. That is great logic there. I bet the NCAA will soon see the error of their ways.

I agree ... but we were the ones that threw the egg that ended up on the face of the NCAA with reporting the Cam deal ... I would think the NCAA wouldn't mind ***** slapping us for that one

i'm pretty sure everybody knows who the poster is and which site he posts on and i don't think anybody is ignoring that fact.

Actually, this is what I think is the elephant in the room.

Everyone seems to ignore that without his "help", none of us would be having this conversation.

Yep. That settles it. We did it. I can't believe we haven't fired coaches and self reported.

What about the pics of him with the Bama guys? Are they guilty also?
