Who is better? UNC, UofL, and Duke maybe, if everyone comes back. Oregon maybe if everyone comes back.

I definitely think they are better than we are, with our roster the way it is right now.
Gonzaga, Wichita, Arizona, Mich St, UL.

big 12 is slowing dying. but media wont say anything. look at the NBA prospects that have gotten drafted over the years. look at the talent going into the conference. this year alone, the big 12 has something like 9 ESPN top 100 kids coming into the league. the SEC has 19.

there is a reason why ku has dominated the league. they still can recruit elite players while the rest of the league mostly lives off "whats left" and transfers.

Graham would get drafted imo. Hell he'd got drafted last year when he had the better season.

Wish we could get a quality player or 5 to stay 4 years. The state of Kentucky would do a fundraiser to pay the players the millions they leave for the NBA for.
4 million Kentuckians times $100 bucks each should suffice. They can have the money after they retire.
That's 400 million to give out.........just stay 4 years and they can have 20 million each. 400 million should last us a few years anyway till Cal is gone.

Isnt it interesting the type of money that could be raised if all Americans gave $100 bucks to charity for 1 day of the year? 400 million people times $100 bucks= a **** ton

It is amazing that some people on here do not understand this fact.
2012 we did indeed win a NC with a SR making contributions. But my math shows we won games by an ave of 17pts that year, Miller averaged 9pts per game.2rbs,2 assist. Add in those 2 assist and even make them 3pters were still in the + without him. Loved he was here but on that team the average experience of the team was .09 hardly says what you all are suggesting.

Difference is Cal would tell Briscoe that he's never going to get drafted so get to d-league & get to work.

Self will hold out false hopes to Graham that he'll be a lottery pick if he returns. Self cares about Self, Cal cares about his players.
That would be some of the worse advice ever. Your not good enough, so quit school and go make pennies trying to get to the NBA. How about, stay in school, get that degree, then you can still go to the NBDL with a degree.

why cant you get the degree later? there is no expiration date on that. there is shelf life on sports.

Key to what? .
the key to playing some semblance of defense before February. 9/10 freshmen have never been expected to play defense in their life.

And the talent over experience argument is flawed anyway. Look at a guy like Hawkins this year who was a far better all-around player than guys like Gabriel or Jones but for some reason that doesn't stop fans from salivating over these incoming freshman Every Spring just because they have 5 Stars next to their name

I'm still not convinced that Kansas will be a contender for next season. Just not enough elite pieces; we saw that against Oregon.

IMO, it's most likely that they choke in the Elite Eight yet again.

You have no way of knowing this...don't even think it's close to being the case.

Yeah, they lose their 2 best players and their leading rebounder, and add a guard who didn't exactly light it up at MSU, another transfer who shot poorly overall but pretty good from 3 (albeit with a low sample rate), a center with some promise but with a weight issue, and another guard (ranked 61st by ESPN). Oh, and a 5 star PF.

That still doesn't sound like a better team than this year.

I mean christ.. this was YOUR year! Your chance to become half of what Kentucky is!

ANd in perfect Kansas fashion, you choked.. as usual. Ended the same spot as Kentucky, a team that no one picked to make it past UCLA..[roll]

In the preseason AP poll, Kentucky was picked ahead of Kansas.

Really UNC, Villanova and Kansas should have been one two and three preseason. UK & DUKE were for whatever reason ready to extremely high. Especially UK considering they lost 80% plus of their scoring from the year before.

We're normally preseason really high just because people expect Kentucky to be a contender every year with Cal. But there's really no legitimate reason to rank UK in the top three every single year preseason as young as we always are.

We're already preseason number 1 for next year and we're not even finished with our recruiting class yet. Kind of ridiculous. So I'm not sure what your point is moron

You're "already preseason #1"? Where? I just googled CBS, Fox, NBC and Sporting News and it was either Arizona or Louisville on top.

Really? Graham came back didn't he? What's in his best interest? Not Kansas or Self's.
Why is it this kid dosen't get to make his own decision, but yet it is OK for Cal to tell a young man who will NEVER play in the nba to leave college and give up his education and play for 30k in the D league...Alex Poythress stayed four years and has a ten times better chance of making it than Briscoe ever will.

You also remember we had 2 sophomores in Jones and Lamb who came back, right? I count them as experienced players as well. Also, by simply quoting Miller's stats, you are grossly shortchanging his true importance to that team. Its not always simply about the math.

i'd stay in college, get my degree and then try to play pro ball. Dleague salaries are a joke. 10 day contracts in the NBA are around $30k

And just what is the evidence Cal told Briscoe to go?

I don't think Cal wants Briscoe to go. A Junior Briscoe would be better than a Freshman 3*. With the depth of guards in this draft, I don't see Briscoe getting drafted. He should stay put. It is not like Cal has more top recruits than scholarships for the 17-18 season.
