Why not give Diallo a few minutes to see what he can do? I understand he hasn't been here as long as the other guys. But he's been here 2 1/2 months now. That's as much time as the freshman get in the summer till the season starts. He should know enough of the offense and defense by now. To give someone a breather. He's not going to here 4 years. So no sense in worry about the redshirt. He's long and seems like he could be a good defender. Might could be a good secret weapon for us. Since they wouldn't have a scouting report on him. Just a thought!

The reports I read is that coaches did ask him (I believe they talked about it on HOB).

but he was partially tempted but ultimately decided to stick with the original plan.

I can envision Cal inserting him into the lineup during the final minutes of the championship game with us up by 20 points to reward him for his efforts in practice. Wouldn't hurt anything.

HE IS NOT PLAYING THIS SEASON FOR THE LAST TIME. He wants to get his feet under him so next season he can be an elite guard and a first team AA . I expect him to be in the range as his skills ( especially with his improved shot ) make him one of a kind .

So he's refusing to play? I don't get it. How can you not want to play? I kinda want Derek Anderson to slap his face. ok, im out of control.

If I knew Diallo could help get #9, I would be good with him being a Sweet 16 to the National Championship and done player. Lol

So your suggestion is we put a guy in an NCAA tournament game that has logged zero game minutes during the season to "see what he can do?"
I'm not saying he should play 10 or 15 minutes. But could give a couple minutes for a breather. Or for foul trouble. I would bet he could hold his on, on defense. I just don't see why you have a kid so athletic and not try to get him involved.

I just don't understand that darn Cal. Why don't he put in Brad? He's probably the best 3 point shooter on the team!!! I guess he doesn't wanna show favoritism with his kid. I mean we're on a 13 game win streak, why not change it up a little now?

Let's say you don't see a lot of things. Are you a car mechanic? Do you see a faulty master cylinder or an issue with the timing belt ? A dentist- a class 2 ellis fracture on #7 or toothbrush abrasion on the lower left from a typical right handed brusher being too aggressive? No, you don't see those things as you are uneducated in college basketball coaching. So, don't see things, like putting an untested, unplayed, player solving unexisting problems. Do what you do, just don't become a basketball coach(signed, the future players who might have to play under you).
If you're willing to bet, I'm sure someone in Vegas or wherever has a line on "does Diallo play?" Place your money and show us your bravery regarding your feeling he plays.

I thinking Cal doesn't want to play Diallo this early in the tournament and lose his "secret weapon" strategy the rest of way.

Now is not the time to play around and to just "see what he can do". The fact that someone would bring this up now is mind boggling to me. This is the NCAA Sweet 16!!! Diallo is not going to play, nor should he at this point. That time has pasted and it's win or go home. Just a ridiculous notion to bring up.

Rumor from the KSR boys, that in these tourney open practices, he's the best player in the floor.

Can anyone confirm?
