Can you imagine the imploding? If Nutt did not do it this year it will be really tough in the future. He may be really smart to move on. Can you imagine a Ole Miss team with out 22 on the field.

He may be looking to jump ship while his stock his still high...

ETA: Not only would it be funny if he left, it would be even funnier that he left for a program as historically irrelevant as Kansas. As much as I hate Ole Miss, even I would call that a step down.

Nutt will use this to leverage the dumbasses in Oxford and we`ll end up spending more money on our own coach to "keep up".

I think he got a glimpse of what it's like going toe to toe with Mullen and he didn't like it.

I expect him to be off the board soon.

Isn't Kent Austin the heir apparent, anyway?

I would love to see the reaction from some of my Ole Miss Alumni relatives. These are the same people that were calling for a national championship run this year and that the egg bowl loss was because of our "annoying" cowbells.

I know for a fact his daughters have enrolled at KU. Friend of mine has an uncle that works outside of Lawrence, and he knows a guy who works in admissions at KU. Said they were actually up there touring campus the day after the egg bowl. He heard from one of the campus tour group leaders that one of the daughters was saying her dad said "17 this crap, I don't think I'm ready to go through this every year" after the game. Seems to me like he's looking for somewhere with no pressure, sort of similar to Arkansas before their fans went batshit crazy.

and he's been telling people that she's not happy about living in Oxford. Absolutely hates it. Can't wait to leave. She stayed with him in KC over Thanksgiving.

I'm just sayin. I don't have a source on many things, but I had a good source on that one.

So put me down for EJ's wife wanting out of Starkville and black jerseys for the Bama game. That's all I can claim.

I'd like to see him stay. I'd like to see Mullen grab the top athletes from MS year in an year out. It's clear that Ole Miss is using the out-of-state approach and Nutt may likely be a lazy recruiter with respect to local talent. Having that strategy in Oxford lets Mullen work his plan better. Whether that's an effective plan or not remains to be seen, but I think going head to head against Nutt gives Mullen an advantage in achieving his goals. I don't want somebody else sharing a similar plan as Mullen forcing us to share already thin resources.

Plus, as noted by the other posts, there's a significant drop-off in experience/talent at Ole Miss. I think we'll see a couple of mediocre seasons from Nutt over the next 2/3 years should he stay. Combine that with Mullen pushing his buttons and Nutt's past history of embarrassing himself personally at Arkansas, it could make for some entertaining moments.

Could be reporting on a tip they got from Nutt`s agent. Remember how he worked UPig over with a threat he was going to Nebraska. Assume the position Rebs , you`re about to get a Nutt job.

HA, no I'm just a big Russell Walters fan. I wonder whatever happened to that guy? I guess his country music career never quite took off!

The EJ leaving rumors were true, but the rumors of EJ's wife disliking Starkville were completely false. Hopefully you weren't the one that started up that ********.

No big deal, just curious if you know that rumor was not true? Seems like if a rumor was going to be started, it would have been that EJ hated coaching for a fat lazy <17>.

All I know is EJ's wife had a timeframe in which she wanted to be gone from Starkville. Don't know why.

Their leaving conincided with that timeframe. Don't know if that is coincidence or not.

Take it or leave it.
