As much as I wanted to vote for the high Heisman finisher and current or former holder of various school records to go along with a long NFL career, I flipped a coin between the guy who's played 2 games against ****** teams and a flameout that couldn't even manage to sell cars or insurance in the town he played in and became a restaurant waiter instead.

It’s kind of sad to think, Tony Diaz is so young, he’s probably never even heard of Tim Dwight.

Man I’m getting old. Hopefully Kirk tells these young kids about all the Hawks that came before them.

Until the focus shifts to the run game, these games are going to be close.

Throwing the ball that much is tough to watch.

So far, the shinny toys have been a distraction
Had the Hawks run as much as you wanted, they would have lost. Last night was a perfect example of why you need to be able to throw the ball.

Also....spell better.

Well, Iowa dropped back to throw it over 30 times, and barely won. So, I guess I'm not sure why you would say that
I'm just spitballin' here, but my guess is he said that because Iowa rushed for less than 100 yards last night. If they had kept trying to run, they'd have rolled up around 130 and lost the game. But sure, run the ball--if you can. LOL

Did you even watch the game? Iowa's running attack was shut down by ISU. They only won because they were able to throw the ball.

Would you prefer that they have thrown the ball 20 times and barely lose? I actually believe you would.

That's why they needed to run it more often, and more consecutively early.

You have to keep pounding on the D for some holes to start opening.

And you have to get your line and backs lathered into a rhythm by running consecutively early

Nonsense. Had the Hawks done that last night they probably would have lost 13-3 (or more). But, I'm sure you would be fine with that.

Learn the game.

Timmy D was lightning in a bottle and one of the all time best returners, so you can't compare him to DJK and Diaz....much like you wouldn't throw in Wetjen's name here.

While still early, I see a valid argument for a The Boogeyman vs. McNutt comparison...😉
