I got full body shivers. It was almost surreal. I will reveal my age a bit, but I was sitting in my 8th grade class on 9/11 and really didn't quite understand the magnitude of what took place that day. I was instilled with pride for America since I was was born, but over the years it just grows into anger because youalways see and hear reminders about the war and what happened almost 10 years ago. Then you hear news today like this, and it just doesn't seem real. It's been almost 10 years, and we finally got the bastard. Great day for millions of people across the globe.

his wife knocked on the door, he walked outside and she told him what happened, and he walked backed in said "American has been attacked". I'll never forget it.

Then watched live in my 2nd period class as the second building was hit. Thought it was a replay of the first. 10 years too late, but so glad that piece of **** is burning in Hell tonight.

I remember our teacher saying it was okay to get our our cell phones and use them if we wanted to get more information.

I remember long lines at the gas station that afternoon too.

It is one of those moments that you will never forget. I remember the fighter planes flying over New Orleans' downtown later that day and the guy in the elevator in a stupor saying "I was in World Trade #7 yesterday".

and sat down at my desk at about 7:45 am, and as was (and is) my custom I opened my browser, navigated to Drudge Report and was perplexed to see a file photo of a small prop plane over the drudge headline "commuter plane crashes into world trade center."

Little did we know.

Saw the second plane hit the WTC. Jumped off, jogged to my car, drove straight to Vicksburg for my guns, headed back to Hattiesburg, and then went to an MBA class that night. As class began our professor asked us if anyone needed to say anything, I raised my hand and said the following "I don't want to17ing be here right now." He responded "My thoughts exactly" and packed up his **** and walked out.

This isa great moment for our country.

Throughout the class we too thought it was a small plane. Only when I got back on the shuttle to the dorm did I find out what was really going on.

I was on the 8th hole of the Woodside course at Cantigny in the west Chicago burbs on an internship and playing some golf before work when it happened. We found out about in when we stopped in the clubhouse at the turn. We watched it, were all totally confused at what had happened since nobody knew anything at that point, and headed back out to play more.
I got a call about 30min later from my mom who was stuck on the Golden Gate bridge because they had just shut it down for security reasons.

That day is, from what I understand, (most of) our generation's version of where we were when Kennedy was shot. It's something everyone will always remember.

driving to class over at the entomology building. Figured it was a something small until I realized the news had cut in to ALL the radio stations. Got into lab, and mentioned something to the professor about it. He went upstairs to check it out on TV. Came back about five minutes later looking pale and distant and said "Um, we're done for today. You should probably go home." Went to work where we all stayed glued to the computer the rest of the day.

This was justice for all the victims and their families. Hell just picked up a top ten SOB. Personally I hope this brings more of those ******** out for another round of 7.62 mm sedatives.

To hell with all of them and their "retaliation".

I was about to leave for work. Saw the smoke from the 1st tower and thought that was a bizarre accident. Watched a little longer, saw the 2nd plane hit, and knew it was terrorism. Drove to work, heard a report of the Pentagon being hit, and felt like the country was under full scale attack.

Most of all I feared for what kind of world I was bringing my first child into.

Thank the Lord the USA hasn't become like the Middle East where suicide bombings are the norm, because that was what I was fearful of. As long as my God is greater, as long as there's more good than evil on the world, we'll be OK.

to a specialist when my wife stepped into the bathroom and said a plane had hit the WTC. I figured it was a small plane. Got out, dried and dressed and walked into the living room where the TV was just in time to see the second plane hit. It was difficult to try to explain it all to my kids what had happened and the reasons why. Glad the son of ***** is dead.

I was working part time as a youth minister in Ackerman while finishing school. Just got out of the shower and about to head to Biomechanics when I heard the report on TV. Did not make it to class, made my way to Ackerman High. Lots of questions and lots of emotion just wish I had more answers than I did at the time.

Because unless your family was a victim of the WTC attacks, it really doesn't mean ****. One old, dying man died. Too many awful things have happened to the world in the last decade, far worse than 9/11. I love this country, but all I could think about while seeing celebrations on various campuses was some defensive back who acts hard after the receiver he was covering drops a wide open pass. Osama is no more responsible for our grief than Obama is for current legislation issues. The men responsible for 9/11 died the day their victims did. If NYPD and NYFD men can find some solace, I'll drink to that. If you find your own sense of closure in Bin Laden's death, so be it. But he was just a man who once symbolized something that's long since become something else. Death is not for sport. Life is not a game. We didn't win anything today.

I had flown in the night before for meetings that whole week. We all found out from our VP of sales at our Monday morning meeting right after it happened. Last thing he said was "good luck getting home". Me and a guy from New Orleans took a train to Philadelphia on Tuesday, spent the night there, then rented a car at the airport on Wednesday, drove to Chattanooga, spent the night, got up and stopped in Meridian where he rented a car and headed to New Orlean and I came on to Jackson.

My clock radio was still reporting commuter plane, and I remember thinking "damn, that's odd". Started watching TV right before the second plane hit.

And Dr. Cain made us have that EO class that afternoon. I was surprised, I figured he'd cancel. Not so much.

We watched the presidential address that night at Applebee's. Everyone stopped to listen to it.

He was out with the River's class field trip so we had a sub. Another teacher walked in and said, "Turn the tv on the news." We all watched stunned. Needless to say, there was no work done that day.

We were supposed to be there all week but basically met for about an hour Tuesday morning and worked on getting home the rest of the week. Virginia is an absolutely beautiful state by the way.

I just got back from my 8 oclock class, english comp I think. I stopped by the Wendy's in the union @ 9:00 for some food and went back to my dorm room in Subtle. I remember turning on the T.V. and of course it was on ESPN and Stuart Scott said, We are turning over to our ABC sister station for their coverage of America Under Attack. I was like, yeah right. What seemed to be 2 minutes later the second plane hit the tower. Never will forget it.

surfing the internet quietly in my shop along with my other co workers when one of them told me togo to foxnews. As I looked through the pictures of the first tower that hadbeen hit the screen flashed with "Breaking News!". The second tower had been hit. My co worker said "Osama Bin Laden is behind this!". I had no idea how he knew that, but it was the first time I had ever heard his name. MP's with m16s swept through myshop minutes later telling everyone "This facility is going on our highest alert. Leave now or get shot." I got my *** out of there and home as quick as I could... You couldn't peel me away from the news. I was in shock.

Believe it or not, NAS Meridian is very high up on our enemy's target list. Being that I was 25 at the time (young, dumb, and full of ***) I truly believed that something bad was going to happen really really close to home.

The principal told us something about a plane hitting the WTC on the bus ride. They explained what had happened while we were on the ferry to the Mat Sinking Unit. We watched the 2nd plane hit (not sure if it was live or after the fact) on a small television with a terrible feed on the quarter boat.

Getting ready for a 9am class and had sports center on as always. Sports center was preempted to go to live footage, me and the roommates were pretty much glued to the TV after that. I think we all took turns going to fill up with gas, cause for some reason that was a more panic in Starkville.

I believe it was a PE class the Glenn Young (think that was his name) taught that I had scheduled to go to that afternoon at 1:30. I was already sick of staring at the TV so I decided to go, class was about half full. He told us to go home and call our parents, friends and family and appreciate the things around us.

Pretty sure we all did that night.

headed down Madison (lived in Mid-Town Memphis) and remember what a beautiful morning it was...then I heard George Lapides say that a plane had crashed into the WTC and they suspected it was terrorist act. Hopefully this gives a little redemption to all of the families who lost a loved one.
