Did anyone else on here think...

That after the Hawaii series we really found out what our team was about? When we went to Hawaii and lost 3 of 4, my first reaction was that we just played our first road series and lost 3 of 4 to a below average team, and we couldnt hit much of anything. I know we got 3 of our toughest series out of the way in SEC play, but I'm afraid this just may the team we were dealt, and we are gonna have to run with it this year. The SEC as a whole is very good this year, and all these teams we say we should win 2 of 3 from are just as capable as saying the same thing. I thought that before our Hawaii series our bats may be able to carry us this year, but now I regret saying that. I completely blame Polk, but so does everyone else. Does anyone on here really think we have a legit chance to make it back to Hoover this year for the tournament?

including taking 3 of 4 from (at the time ranked) Coastal Carolina.

We lost on the road to Hawaii, who's proven to be pretty good. On the road at Georgia and Arkansas, two top ten teams.

Other than that, a loss to NIU and South Alabama. Seriously, that's baseball. What the hell we haven't even played the SEC lollypops yet.

Too much estrogen up in this mfer.

this:

1. Tied for last in the conf in B.A.
2. 11th in slugging percentage
2. Our batters strike out more than anyone in the conference
3. Our pitchers walk more than anyone in the conference.
4. Our pitchers have struck out fewer batters than all but one team in the conference.

These are overall stats.

Just throwing that out there.

wait 3 more weeks and I might agree with you. But not now, too early to be getting all emotional.

I wish they were but they aren't. Regardless, that's why I posted stats from the overall season.

they are comparable to other SEC teams not named Georgia, Arkansas and LSU. I mean, ****, if we beat them that means they suck? Not enough evidence to go either way at this point. It's like you give the benefit of the doubt to all evidence pointing to the fact that we suck and every team we beat sucks, but you don't look at the other side of the coin. We're middle of the pack team right now based on who we've played.

I said they aren't great. They aren't the SC of old. But you are right, we did what we needed to against them. But Im not sure they are in the top 4 teams in the conference. Right now that's LSU, Ark, Ole Miss, and Georgia.

I think the stats I showed are more evidence than anything. Then throw out the fact that we have no one in the bullpen we can count on outside of Forrest Moore--and if he is in the pen, then we have no third starter. And the fact that you can't chalk any midweek games is damaging.

I hope we are getting turned around, but we are just below average in far too many facets of the game. When we hit, we can't get anyone out. When we pitch it well, we can't hit. And then there are the times where we make far too many errors.

And we also tend to get thrown out when we do get on base. I think that's just part of Cohen's style and its going to happen and we'll get better. Not too mention, it pales in comparison to how bad we are elsewhere.

I thought the Hawaii series exposed our team is being really bad....but I was wrong

Hawaii is actually really good....they have had a brutal schedule and are now 16-9 overall and No. 9 in RPI

I have no idea who told you the SEC is very good

Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky and Vanderbilt all have pretty bad baseball teams this year -- ok good against the rest of the nation so to speak but bad by SEC standards

I fully expect the MSU team to win between 32 and 36 games, make Hoover and be a very low 2 or very high 3 in somebody's regional

(Don't laugh, I also gave you 22 wins and the NCAAT in men's basketball)

MSU has gotten three of its five toughest series out of the way (the other two are UM and LSU, the final two)....our team will be at full whatever it is by then

You will be surprised at the medocrity of SEC baseball that will be played over the next four weeks - with AU, UT, UK and VU

b/c I agree with most of your assessment of our opponents and the conference.

"I have no idea who told you the SEC is very good "---I don't know what your talking about. I know there are plenty of mediocre teams in the conf.

I do laugh at the fact you keep bragging about your SEC prediction. Those were regular season predictions, and you were off.

May have been off but much closer than most

10-6 Conference.....yes off by one game
22-9 overall...yes off by three games
NCAA Tournament...yes correct when most said NIT

Did miss the boat on the SECT, I fully expected the 1-1 belly flop there
