The first time I heard about this was on the radio this afternoon at lunch. I would think this would have been a big story at the time it happened. </p>

It's becoming more and more apparent to me that everything I've ever read online was no where near close to accurate.

did auburn know without a doubt that the NCAA would reinstate him and do it this quickly? they had to have known because otherwise they would not have run that risk this close to the SEC championship.....is that sort of information common knowledge?

That's been the wrinkle that I've been thinking about.<div>
</div><div>It seems to have been a previously agreed to deal on temporary eligibility. From the press release, I think I remember it saying that the NCAA declared him ineligible and then Auburn appealed to have his eligibility reinstated immediately. The NCAA stated that Cecil Newton committed a rule violation when he solicited $$ from MSU, which caused the ineligibility. Then they reinstated his eligibility based on lack of sufficient evidence that Cam knew anything about Cecil's solicitation.</div><div>
</div><div>I think that the NCAA, the SEC, and Auburn are in cahoots on this in order to get Cam eligible for the SEC CG and possible BCS CG.</div><div>
</div><div>The money is just too much for the NCAA and the SEC too, it seems.</div>

I said "temporary eligibility" based on any continued investigation by the NCAA that may or may not be taking place. <div>
</div><div>In the real world, Cam is eligible period. He'll play the SEC CG, and possibly the BCS CG and then go off to the NFL with no penalty it seems.</div><div>
</div><div>Mike Slive is a joke.</div>
