else think that PI on Redmond was BS? I watched the replay 5 different times and each time thought the same thing.

Short answer: yes. There was nothing there. Also, bear had a defender draped all over him on his touchdown grab with no flag.

I know i see through maroon glasses but thought we kept getting bad spots that made differences in play calls.

Yes that was a terrible call. I remember thinking at that moment, well we will probably out play their asses but the refs will keep them hanging around for the eventual defeat.

Horrible call. I absolutely hate how officials are getting so ticky tack on PI calls... but are still wildly inconsistent on what is and isn't PI.

Also, after they spiked the ball (before the Hail Mary), the clock operator acted like it was a timeout. The play clock never started/kept re-setting.

I think he called Redmond for holding the WRs arm. I wasn't ever able to get a real clear view of it.

I didn't think it was PI either. But it also wasn't a chop block that got called on them. Both tough calls at full speed. Refs did a pretty good job I thought.

Just from my memory of last night I didn't think he held his arm or anything. The bear td had more contact than Redmond imo

It didn't start out being a chop block... but you are right, it was very ticky-tack. When in doubt, they are taught to call it, though, since that foul definitely involves player safety. I wouldn't have called it, though.

I think there was a tiny amount of contact well before the ball got there....but given the events that followed I'm really glad they called it!

I was about to start a thread on that for I just finished watching the replay of the game. I didn't need to watch it 5 times though. There was a little hand jivin' between the two off the line. However, Redmond was in perfect position and covered Dural perfectly. If you watch it again, he tries to catch it with one hand keeping his inside arm down, to get the call. I'm not saying he did so intentionally to get the call, but if he did I guess it was a pretty savvy move. Yet, given the eventual result; two things:

1) IF, and that's a big if, he was trying to get the call, how is that better than reaching up with two hands to catch a TD?
2) Why didn't they try it again?

There was minimal

hand contact, between both parties, but nothing that doesn't go on every play. It was most definitely not something that could be called for PI.

How about the no call on the running/roughing the punter? I don't think they tipped it.

ETA - apparently - at least according to an Ole Miss fan responding on the Hail State Football facebook page - Rule 9-1-4-a-5-b: The kicker’s protection under this rule ends when he carries the ball outside the tackle box before kicking.

Never knew that. I guess QB's should be fair game outside the tackle box as well.

Only thing I could think of on why that was a no call is that Devon ran about three steps to his right before punting it. That little run may void the normal protection the punter gets because he is now considered a potential runner. No idea if that is the rule but that's the only reason I could think of as to why they didn't call it, because he was clearly run into.

4. The kicker’s protection under this rule ends (a)when he has had a
reasonable time to regain his balance(A.R. 9-1-16-IV); or (b)when he
carries the ball outside the tackle box (Rule 2-34) before kicking.

I'm glad they missed one call...after the HUGE 3rd and 10 pickup in the third quarter (right before Dak's long run for TD).

After Bear made a nice catch and run, he tucked the ball under the arm of an LSU DB...who had just gotten his balls stomped by Dillon Day...could have been a big 15-yard penalty. Glad they missed it, but I LOVE the cockiness.

There was more PI on the 3rd down pass we threw to Malcolm later in the game than there was on that play. And no call then...
