Did Dukie V just pick mississippi over us? Or is dementia setting in?

Didn't list us in his five best teams of the SEC.

His list:

Kentucky
Florida
Tennessee
Mississippi
Vandy

Yeah. Mississippi. That Mississippi.

Ugh.

I mean we have the "King of the West" as our coach. Who cares about early season losses to inferior teams when you can win the West and get a 9 seed.

Jeez does it really matter what Vitale says 8 games into the season? We have been down this road a million times it seems. We lose a couple of early games. Everyone panics. Ole Miss wins most of their OOC games. Everyone panics and says Kennedy is Jesus on a basketball sideline. SEC play starts. Ole Miss goes 7-9. State goes 10-6. State goes to the NCAA. Ole Miss goes to the NIT. Rinse and repeat.

Vitale pays as much attention to SEC hoops, minus Kentucky, as Sly Croom did to recruiting QB talent.

Why can't our coach beat a good team or even some bad teams that are not in the SEC? It's not like this team has a bunch a new players on it. It all comes back to how Stans can not game-plan for coaches/teams that he has not played before. He has no clue how to attack a zone defense besides bombing three pointers.

We really need these next two wins against Depaul and UCLA. I agree these early losses piss me off too but I would much rather lose them in the OOC than in the SEC like Ole Miss tends to do every year. That is what I don't get about people buying into the Ole Miss hype so early in the season. Their guards are good but their inside is weak. They remind me alot of South Carolina the last couple of years.

(which BTW I think is a pretty bad theory because even the SEC teams change from year to year, they have new players every year and new coaches every 5 or so years). I think it's that Stans, for all the things he does well, does a terrible job at getting a team ready to play at the start of the season. He's given a month (roughly, I'm not looking it up to see exactly how long pre-season practice is) to get a team ready to play and it always takes him 2 months. You're right that there's absolutely no excuse for this team not being ready to play and play well from the very first game of the season.

then sucked in conference? We've done that a grand total of one time, 07-08. Every other recent year we've dropped at least 3 OOC games, including one or two to crappy teams.

Losing OOC games to ****** teams...it's time that stopped Kennedy has also been having to turn around a ****** program- I wouldn't look for them to fold this year...it's going to be a battle all year long

Hence the use of the word "most" in reference to winning most of the OOC. Even if you dropped 3 then your record would usually be about 11-3 and some on here would be proclaiming AK a genius. Don't get me wrong Kennedy has done a respectable job but he has yet to put together a real solid SEC record.

We went 8-8 in 2006-2007 with a team that had gone 4-12 the previous season, including a 1-12 finish to the regular season.

In 2007-2008, we had a young team that collapsed in SEC play to go 7-9. In 2008-2009, it was a miracle that we were able to get to 7-9 after the injuries we had.

Whether that's due to AK or not, I don't know, but he's never once had a combination of both experience and talent at the same time during SEC play. This is the first year he'll have anything close to both talent and experience at the same time, so we'll see. I think we will be in the 10-6 range, maybe better, and I think MSU will be in that same range. I think we'll both be dancing.

If he was tired of it then he would do something about it and have his team ready to play. This year he had no excuse to lose the two games we did. We had the same players from last year. We will find out tonight and Saturday.
